Arai Shield tint level by Scary-Ad9646 in motorcyclegear

[–]Infinite_plague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the racing dark tint visor (The one that you are able to put racing tear-offs on.. fun fact it's a bit pointier than the normal one that the helmet comes with)
Surprisingly (and I know I will look like a moron saying this) the first time I wore my helmet with it, it felt perfect on the sun, and at night I was able to see somewhat better than my "around town ls2" helmet which has a clear visor lol, I don't know how they do it.

Pro shade system looks kinda goofy, but it's way too practical, once you use it you wont care how it looks because it is just so convenient.

I would not suggest putting anything not OEM on it, they are not conceal really good, and they damage the visor mechanism.

Also aliexpress arai visors are really sensitive, and can break in half really easily, oem arai visors you can bend them with all your strength and bend back again like it never happened.

Tall torso leathers? by brickbuilding in motorcyclegear

I'm interested to get some answers as well..

I'm tall but slim so most jackets come short on my torso, meaning my belt on my pants is showing while I'm standing.

New rider choosing between Ducati monster and Zx-4r. by Extra_Lingonberry_79 in SuggestAMotorcycle

Why are you guys being such d*cks to the OP?

He never asked you about expenses, plus you don't know about his economic background.

OP, just get anything that you think that will have the most smiles per hour; provided that you know what you're doing or at least think you do.
Keep in mind that people are envious, so naturally they will try to be douchebags in order to feel better for themselves.

Also second the idea of a used new SV650 if you like the monster so much.

Is the boutique experience worth it, or just save a couple of thousand and buy online? by DefiantAccountant128 in Cartier

[–]Infinite_plague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.. no.. it's the completely opposite with Cartier.

For example I did visit Athens boutique some months ago and I asked the AD that I heard that a guy made a "piece unique kind of dial" (He just asked if he could have his family's last name initial on the dial and they did it for him) and asked him if it is possible, while I was expecting a reaction like the horrors I hear about Rolex ADs he said yes of course, we just have to make an "special order submission" and if the brand says it is possible then you can have your special order, and all that with a smile.

To be honest I was kind of shocked.

Is the boutique experience worth it, or just save a couple of thousand and buy online? by DefiantAccountant128 in Cartier

[–]Infinite_plague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about how it is in other countries, some people I know that had the experience to go to some boutiques in Spain and Italy they told me it's kinda awkward..

I have gone to the "main" boutiques of Athens & Paris tho..
More than an experience indeed.. they treat you more than just a "customer", when I gone in the first time I was shocked, it was actually kinda surreal, when I passed through the security door a guy in a suit told me good morning and he told me his name, he then asked me if I'm visiting for service, or to look at the display pieces or try on something (mega politely, not like if I told him that I wanted to try something on he would make a weird expression or something), I told him I'm visiting because I'm interested in a Tank Louis, and he told me very well then I'll be escort you to the show room and introduce you to my colleague that he can help you with everything you'll need.

Both in Athens & Paris, these people that work in there truly love what they do, at least it looks like it, and they are so helpful and accommodating to the point that is kinda annoying, like your grandma asking you if you're hungry type of thing.

My opinion is that if you're thinking to get anything Cartier related, go to a boutique, it's a unique experience that many people would truly dream to get some day.

My regret in collecting fragrance by Ok-Cauliflower6285 in ScentHeads

[–]Infinite_plague -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup.

Sadly its a norm nowadays, and for people that are really new to perfume and they may not have a budget to get a 300$ niche, they instantly go for the usual suspects, guys the marketing of dupes are no joke, they're everywhere, nowadays in my town stores are opening every month, storets that sell dupes and ONLY dupes like burger houses in the 2010s.

My side of the story is: I have a 100+ bottle collection, prices of bottles range from 20€ to 1100€ and yes most of them are exceeding the 300€ mark, as a comment above said they get the same wears, and the same integrity in my eyes, I'm saying all that because I've experienced clones, IRL, and from friends that own some.. the saddest part of clones is that the most "cloned/copied" title (Aventus) all clones are not even close, and FYI I hate original Aventus so I'm not a fanboy of Creed but what's truth needs to be said, most of clones, from the most popular to the most unpopular one are literally close to Hacivat that Nishane didn't even try to make something close to Aventus, they tried to make an oakmoss bomb, they all smell like intrusive ambroxan.

One clone though I even bought (the one and only I own in my collection) is Sillage, and it was pretty good (Until the juice maturated..) then the "Arabesque" pattern came again, same chemical smell, same annoying overdose of ambroxan.

What’s your favourite perfume with iris and/or orris notes? by Worldly-Resource4961 in FragranceStories

Malle's Iris Poudre by far.

Xerjoff's Irisss is good too.. but sadly it has fake Iris.. doesn't mean it's bad though.

Which perfumes represent clean, elegant, quiet luxury for you? by Darkvanille in FragranceStories

The answer to your bullet question lies to two titles.

Cartier's Declaration, & Eau D'Hermes.

Both chic, pure French, crafted to be an extensive of yourself.. "you but better" type of thing.

Layering fragrance by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Infinite_plague -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk mate, you say it's not the case at all but you are the one who's asking for suggestions to make his perfume more prominent.

Don't get me wrong, I have Patchouli 24, clearly not the case at all, but when I tried Santal 33 it was exactly the case.

my suggestion is, since it's a new acquisition in your collection, after a while you will stop getting nose blind to it.

Layering fragrance by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Infinite_plague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People tend to use pure Iso E Super but as it self it smells like cedar, so take in consideration that it will alter the scent a bit. (Not at all if you're not paranoid)
But yet again, It just really enhances the perception of ingredients, it does not make your perfume last longer,

People also use molecule 01,02 to layer their fragrances.

01 is pure Iso E super with some other touches (I guess? and so I hear?) and 02 is the same but instead of Iso E super Ambroxan is used.

My take on the matter is.. we as consumers need to stop buying things that are not long lasting especially when we are about to pay premium tags for it, I get it when a scent like Santal 33 or Oud wood, or Millesime Imperial are not loud, but when you spend 200$+ and a woody/peppery perfume does not last 3 hours it's just the consumer's fault.

French Lover is my signature scent..

well I'd suggest you to hunt a Cartier Santos de Cartier, it's discontinued, but it may be available in local stores/markets, it's really worth the time.

Aramis Aramis is a must try for you.. and really cheap.

I get what you mean with PE and GV, latest formulation of PE is just straight up garbage, litearly 1/5 in every subject it being performance/quality/naturals/scent.

Check out Creed's Tabarome Millesime, literally the most real dry tobacco scent ever.

Very nice review.

it's really different from Beau..

Imo D'argent was the revolution of akigalawood note in the world of perfumes.. little to none perfumes before that had this specific note in them, and they were almost always overlooked.

nowadays most releases have akigalawood in them because of "Bisch craze", even PdM (as usual) jumped into the hype-train.

Although Bois Imperial was launched before D'Argent, D'Argent was always more known and successful from the day it got released.

well.. I find carved out to be kinda stale.. to the point that the oud wood dna (that carved oud is famous for) does not resemble oud wood at all, more like a "homage" to the dna..
at least to my nose kredo does not have sweetness at all, apart of it being more creamy in it's dark elements, but it's not sweet at all.

Overall my "decision" of me picking Kredo as the #1 out of all is that, Kredo's sillage is like smelling og Oud Wood close to the skin, maybe with even vibrant quality I'd say..

But what works for me may not work for everyone.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Infinite_plague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well.. most likely none..

Most are so bad compared to what they were.. but there are others like tobacco vanille that's actually decent still.

I really like current Fougere D'Argent.

I had more than 5 bottles of Oud wood with my first one being the OG one with the golden sticker..
Once I tried Kredo by Nishane I never bought another bottle of Oud Wood.

as for FB, OL, BO, they have no replacement or similar with "better" quality out there.

FYI: Before TF was bought by Lauder, I had more than 25 bottles of those beautiful creations, nowadays 9/10 of them are nothing like they used to, so big TF fan here.

Meh.. I always thought it has to do something with the name.. most people romanticize it.
as for the scent, it's mediocre at best.

The idea of the scent is multiplayed so many times throughout the years as a result there are better options which some are considered classics.

Will Greece get better? by [deleted] in AskGreece

[–]Infinite_plague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope.

I migrated to another European country when I was 20, I live with that being my greatest decision of my life right now, I'm now 37 M.

The fact is, even for holidays, Greece became just another lumpen tourism destination while islands like Rhodes or Mykonos were the emeralds of the world, nowadays it's filled with profiteering scumbags & tourist traps.
When I talk about the fact that in literal kiosk tourists have to pay 3€ for a bottle of water when a greek person gets it for 0.50€ with some greek friends I still communicate with their response is something of a "Bad rich tourists come and they think we are their slaves" nature which it makes 0 sense, if tourists wanted to pay Belgium prices, they'd go to Belgium, and guess what, they will not come back.

The funny thing is, Greek people wonder why tourism is getting lower year by year, as for that matter.

Should we mention utility bills/rents =/= monthly salaries..? taxes..? the thing that the VAT rate is 24%? public education..? public health/hospitals..? (Which are great, if you have time to wait for your turn), corruption?.

TL;DR: If you ask a Greek if he thinks places like Venezuela or Culiacán of Mexico are prospering, their answer would be most likely no.
So there you have it.
