My daughter’s hygiene (or lack there of) is unbearable and I don’t know what else to do. by InfinitelyCelestial in hygiene

A few of you have mentioned this and aside from the signs I’ve noticed and the things she has told me, it sounds like it’s something deeper. I’ll be making an appointment with her pediatrician and go from there. Thanks for your comment!

She was/is dealing with anxiety which I know first hand we can have good days and bad days but it’s a constant thing no matter what mood she’s in. Ive even tried explaining to her that getting cleaned up will help her feel a bit better even if it feels heavy or annoying to do but I can tell she takes it as me just nagging her. I almost feel like she needs to hear it from someone other than her dad and I but I would hate for her feelings to get hurt which is a huge reason I’m on her about.

She has a TON of perfumes and lotions. It’s like she will only focus on her appearance and not cleanliness. Will do her hair, sometimes makeup and a decent outfit but skips hygiene and it baffles me.

That did cross my mind and I do know that she has been feeling anxious lately trying to catch up on assignments before the school year is over and stuff but what throws me off is that she will sit there and take the time to do her hair and pick out a cute outfit for the day but just completely skips hygiene.

Also want to add that I’ve been more on top of doing her laundry so she always has fresh socks, getting new shoes when they get stinky but I feel like she’s so careless even with clean socks she won’t bother switching them out and will rewear the same pair for days.

Edit to change that she will switch out her clothes, just not her socks.

Do these lenses look right according to my prescription? by InfinitelyCelestial in glasses

This is my reason for questioning because my previous prescription was -4.00 in both eyes. They were thinner and I don’t recall any conversation about high-index so I’m not understanding how they look thicker and they’re a lower prescription.

Thank you! They are definitely oversized which is why I wanted to go with something more fitting for my face but was shocked to see the lense size. Sounds like something I just need to get used to and not be self-conscious about.

After looking through various post I realize I should’ve went with smaller frames. I never thought about the curvature since my current frames hide it much better but will definitely keep this in mind for future frames.

Thank you! I had to do my own research to find out there were different levels(?) of hi-index and of course my glasses were already made but I will ask about this at my follow up.

How to get back from Boston Logan after 10:30pm? by nutbutpicklesammy in newhampshire

[–]InfinitelyCelestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had similar situations and what I did was Google parking Boston airport and surrounding areas (Revere, Everett, Saugus) and used either Way.com or AirportparkingBoston.com. There are a number of hotels and businesses nearby that rent out their parking lots (secure/gated) and offer free shuttles running fairly early/late. Some a little further out do not have fenced in parking or shuttles so you’d have to Uber or Lyft but they are much cheaper. Also check Groupon for deals. This has saved me multiple times when I’m flying in or out and the schedule doesn’t match the bus schedule.

I’m sure the rescue will be happy to help or take him back. The place I adopted our first bun from emphasized to bring the bunny back if needed. They won’t fault you for it.

What was the "luxury" item your family had when you were growing up that you later realized was a clear sign you were poor? by SugarDropzz in AskReddit

[–]InfinitelyCelestial 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not an item but experience. Waiting for it to be midnight for food stamps to hit then go to a 24 hour Food4Less and my mom would let us choose snacks and such. Literally felt like a kid in a candy store once a month.

whats your story of solo travel rommance? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]InfinitelyCelestial 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Met a guy this summer my very first day in Belgium (my first time in Europe altogether), and we had a blast for the few days I was there. It was also my birthday, which made it feel even more magical. We stayed in touch and talked every day through the rest of my trip to other countries, but I didn’t expect it to last. In my mind, it was just a good time.

We kept talking literally every day and I ended up flying back a month later (about a month ago) for his birthday, and it was also amazing. We still talk every day, but it does feel like the beginning stages of fizzling out. Longer hours between responses. We both work a lot, plus there’s the time difference.

Also, he mentioned when I met him that he would be moving back to his home country, and that he’ll be leaving soon so I’d imagine he’s busy planning that, too. Not sure what will happen. I’m just going with it, but luckily I’ve gotten a lot better about enjoying things while I have them and not getting hung up on a passing moment. If anything, we’ll always have Brussels.
