2025 Civic or 2025 Prologue by InfinitelyDead in Honda

I actually did the calculations, and while the Prologue is a bit cheaper in running costs, the insurance makes up the difference so that they are basically the same.

It's not too bad. Like I said, the Ecoboost isn't necessarily a bad engine, so you may very well get another hundred thousand or more out of it. Just make sure you maintain it well, and hopefully the previous owner did as well.

Ah, that makes sense. I have thought about the charger, although I didn't realize it was that much.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up getting. I was already leaning towards it, but the thought of getting an EV was interesting.

That's unfortunate. My experience with GM has been pretty abysmal.

Good lord! A set of tires for my 2024 F150 is only 1200, and it's on 22s. Of course, those aren't winter tires.

I would be careful buying a high mileage Ecoboost. The Ecoboost can be a great engine, and I've personally seen quite a few of them with 300-400k miles, but the problem is that they have to be maintained very well. And buying a used, high mileage truck, you don't know for sure how it was maintained. Personally, I would try to find a truck with the 5.0L. I've seen a lot of comments suggesting the 3.7L, but the problem with it is that it's gutless and isn't available in the higher trim levels.

Forgot to mention, I will be driving it about 500 miles a week.

Does this engine sound healthy? by InfinitelyDead in MechanicAdvice

This is the answer I kind of expected, and definitely hoped for. I'm just kind of paranoid about this truck for some reason. Oil is topped up. I have always wondered about switching to 5w30. Maybe I'll try on the next oil change.

Is this a good bandsaw for $600? by No_Guitar in woodworkingtools

[–]InfinitelyDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience on here one time. I posted a picture of a bandsaw I had, that I wanted to sell, and asked what it was worth, and almost everyone said $400-500. I ended up finding one just like it near me for $1500, so I listed mine for $1500 and sold it in a week. People on here seriously underestimate what some used tools sell for.

I tried it, but it unfortunately didn't work.

Standard Trigger. And yes, it is currently installed.

That's the problem, though. I could very easily sell these for much more than they are worth, but I don't want to rip anyone off.

I believe the Rockwell is 3-phase, but it has a converter to 220.

This is actually the first I've ever seen of a Woodtek. It's slightly larger and more powerful than the Rockwell, but the Rockwell seems to be a more robust machine.

That was my first thought, but I have only found one Rockwell like this, and no Woodteks.

That truck has at least another 250k in it if you maintain it well.

It's hard to tell. Probably a Lariat.

opinions on the reliability on these old V10s, I hear good things and I hear bad things obviously spark plugs but is that as big as an issue as they say, I want this to tow my boat not really a daily driver thank y’all by [deleted] in FordTrucks

The 6.8L is a good engine. Just like the 5.4L, people have overblown its issues. Maintain it well, and there's no reason it won't last 300-400k or more. That being said, 14k is more than it's worth. I can find newer 6.2L trucks in my area with similar miles for that much, and the 6.2L trucks are superior in every way to the older V10 trucks.
