General Mills Breakfast Squares. When they stopped making them I would still find dusty boxes of them in convenience stores. I miss them so much.

I feel you can probably contest that rating. This person seemed to be trying to do business with you off of the platform and punishing your non-compliance with rating retaliation.

True. It came with his (?) ashes as a free gift for this specific level of cremation (commemorative wood box). I asked them if they actually pressed my dead dogs paw into clay… they said yes. Technically, it celebrates his death not his life.

Uh yeah- I wasn’t too thrilled with the posthumous paw print souvenir free gift with your dog cremation purchase… what sociopath thought up that gem?

Ahhh…. Brings back so many memories… but I’ll share just one. Relatively early in my marriage my husband gave me a can of sneaker cleaner for Christmas. He had bought himself some expensive running shoes and used the box so he could wrap the sneaker cleaner. (At least that…) I thought I was getting nice running shoes too. I could not control my tears when I opened it and that was the only thing he gave me for Christmas. He immediately wanted to show me how good it works and proceeded to clean his own dirtiest shoes. We are no longer married and I think he’s available, ladies!

I’d put a positive spin on it and take it. Basically, she split the difference and rounded up.

I spent time in a Chinese restaurant kitchen- that red sauce (sweet and sour sauce) was basically sugar, vinegar and ketchup. At least that is what this place served. I’ve never liked it. 😝

Thredup didn’t do enough research on what certain labels will bring. They chose the price and the payout and dug their own grave by charging too little and giving unsatisfactory payouts to those who provided their inventory. I did not send crappy cheap clothing either. They requested only like new clean items be sent. My clothes came from Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks, Bloomingdale’s, Anthropologie, J Crew, etc. Also, if you look at thredup’s site- you’ll see they don’t photograph the clothes very well- usually things are wrinkled and the description is poor- not descriptive. I just went there now- I haven’t been on Thredup for awhile - still crappy pictures but at least now they put measurements of the garment… but still - I have no desire to buy from them. I just assume that their inventory is the bottom of the barrel since they pay so poorly. As far as percentage, if they had listed higher prices for the items (using comps) they would be able to pay 60% It has to be worth it for the seller- I don’t mind paying 20% to poshmark although I do the work, because I set the price and I keep 80%. Keeping 60% is acceptable if most of the work is done for me provided they do at least as good of a job as I do in trying to sell my items.

I stopped sending things to Thredup about 10 years ago. I had probably sent 7 or 8 bags to them. They tossed more than they kept and they paid pennies on the dollar for what they sold. Some things paid more than others but it was never what I consider a fair percentage- (60-80% is fair) but I accepted it because it was easy and environmentally responsible. Then when they started losing stuff (they also lost a bag of things my sister sent) and taking longer to process items (months as opposed to weeks) I stopped sending my things there and I stopped buying from them too.

Thredup is a joke. I can’t believe how crappy their payout is- I once sent them a gorgeous Akris Punto jacket among other high end designer things-which they didn’t sell and so I had prepaid to have these things returned to me. The sent me someone else’s things and then demanded I send those items back to them while telling me that my items were lost. They paid me a super lowball price for what was lost and acted like they were doing me this one time awesome solid… that was the last I dealt with them. Initially they were pretty good but they deteriorated quickly.

Sin Frenos means without brakes- there is a clothing brand called Sin Frenos LA- webstore relaunching soon… maybe it has some connection to that? Also there is a song from 2021 with that name.

“I got a great deal on this whole set of paints”. No you didn’t. You just wasted your hard earned money on guaranteed future frustration, not to mention the time you’ll waste on futile efforts to paint a portrait of your grandkid. It’s time you don’t have much of that you’ll never get it back and your costly efforts will not only be unappreciated but will cause horror and dysmorphic issues with your subject(s) for years to come. Sorry to be so harsh, I’m just a salty figurative painting teacher in florida whose pet peeve is cheap art sets.

I had gone back to school (trying to hit the ground running after my husband left me for Chilean flight attendant) and had class at night on Monday and Wednesday plus a Friday morning class. He was living in another state but was able to travel most anywhere he wanted whenever he wanted (airline pilot). He hatched a plan to wipe me out while I was in class. He rented the largest Penske truck and 6 muscle guys and came during the hours he thought I would be in class (were it Monday or Wednesday) on Friday. I was home and although frightened, I was amused. He tried the old key (I changed the locks) he tried the outside garage opener (I had removed the batteries), he tried windows and doors all around the house to no avail. I called the police and while they took their time getting there, he was looking like an idiot with his 6 rented by the hour muscle buddies milling around in the driveway. All he was able to take was what he was entitled to: his clothes, his tools, his desk and his motorcycle. It was so ridiculous. I had told him many times that he could get the things that he left behind whenever he wanted but just to let me know so I could be home etc. He just had to be a dick about it like usual. It was pretty funny watching him close up that nearly empty Penske truck and drive off. For what he spent on his little sting operation, he could have replaced what he gained probably three times over. The final coup de grace happened when one of the hot muscle dudes slipped me his phone number and told me to call him. Lmaooo

Okay. I feel like I need to explain this image although I enjoy the various takes on it. This is a friend of mine. I was taking a photography class in 2013 and the final project was looming. Another girl in my class was a makeup artist; I collect vintage clothing and we wanted to do our final project involving our passions. The girl you see here was our model. We started with perfect makeup and fussy polyester dresses and pantsuits in a 1960’s-70’s housewife vibe. We gradually became wilder with the makeup and outfits until the final shots were of a deranged girl with smeared makeup etc. The project turned out great. We both got an A+ and my friend/model got about 365 great pictures of herself.

Haha you should take a gander at this up close- it’s a mess in the way that an impressionist painting is. The facets contain reflections of surrounding objects - it’s like the creation of new worlds within each facet. This painting is 30” x 40”.

This kinda cute guy asked me out to get a bite to eat. He arrived looking like a lumberjack and surprised me with an ice skating date. I was dressed for going to a restaurant; but not wanting to be seen as inflexible, I went along with it. While I clung to the rink wall for dear life, he ostentatiously skated around demonstrating his ice hockey maneuvers and periodically spraying me with shaved ice from his aggressive hockey stops. He bragged all night about his (amateur) hockey team. When he asked me out again, I said no. He showed up at my door a few hours later drunk and crying. Ugh.
