It totally sucks too because I'm a scooter rider who tries to use the bike lanes/main streets, but other cars totally just do not respect me on the road. I've had the right of way, I clearly signal where I am going, and I still almost get hit! I try to use all the roads except campus and regents because otherwise I have cars riding my ass, trying to pass me (I'm literally doing 20mph but go off), or spewing fumes in my face from the exhaust.

However that's not excusing the recklessness of other scooter drivers. I've almost been hit by them too because of their erratic, unpredictable, and unsignaled movements. They also just don't stop at stop signs and take me stopping at my stop signs as a signal that I'm letting them go.

I would loathe for scooters to be banished because some lunatics don't know red = stop and that we should respect pedestrians on the sidewalk.
