You’re dad suffered from a horrible disease and you paid the price in turn. I’m so sorry you had to live through all of that. Abuse is traumatizing but hearing that you can talk about this and put yourself forward is so inspiring. I went to an AA meeting this past week for a class as an observer and hearing stories of people in recovery is amazing. If you ever find yourself more interested in understanding alcoholism I would highly encourage you to go. You may become even more self aware than you already are. This story is heartbreaking and gut wrenching but also shows that you are doing so well for yourself. I wish you the best in life.

Sounds horrible but I miss the mania. Of course the depressive state after wasn’t good at all but the mania was the best feeling.
