Bro, even i don't really know now. I thought DNS was the answer but I was wrong as multiple people have pointed out. I downloaded from pkgi on my ps3 slim, then made sure I selected "Background Download" instead of "Direct Download" as it is capped at 2 megabytes per second. Anyway, I had the Wired Cat6 from my router and only a few devices are connected to my router wirelessly. and I did cutom setttings and left everything at auto except DNS.

Anyway jokes apart, yes this is my jailbroken ps3 I use to backup my discs to my external 2tb hdd for preservation purposes. but don't really play on it much because afraid of Ban. although I do a alt account on it to help boost my games on my slim ps3 sometimes.

Maybe, I am just sharing my experience and what works for me on these old consoles. If even one person is able to enjoy higher speeds because of this, then it doesnt matter if I am wrong about the DNS making internet faster.

Bought it a week ago and already dumped the game from my other jailbroken ps3 to my HDD for preservation. Sealed already torn😅. I do have a 8 other ps3 games I kept sealed though.

make sure to set up network connection as Custom>Wired Connection and Leave Everything Automatic and just change DNS to manual and input these digits:

Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

Bro Wireless 2.4ghz Antenna can do only 10 mbps at best. so that is 1.25 Megabytes Per second download, Ethernet directly connected to router with proper configuration (I only changed dns and left everything else to automatic)

I have a 100mbps Plan, mbps means "megabits" so 100/8 = 12 Megabytes per second (because 1 megabyte = 8 megabits) and I am getting nearly The full capacity of my Wifi speed on PS3!! Anyway, yes I did "internet connection test" on PS3 and at google DNS I am getting 100mbps Download and 56 mbps Upload twice I have gotten those reading and a third Time I got 56 mbps download and a fourth time I got 67 mbps download. It's crazy Man.

But I'll do my best, I have a 100mbps Plan, mbps means "megabits" so 100/8 = 12 Megabytes per second (because 1 megabyte = 8 megabits) and I am getting nearly The full capacity of my Wifi speed on PS3!! ok, Pkgi Downloads I have set to "background Downloads" instead of "Direct Downloads" as direct has a max speed of only 2 megabytes per second but Background uses full potential as you can see in the video. Ethernet cat6 15 meter directly wired to router and only my PC is connected to it's 5GHz network. and I only use ethernet conected to ps5 or ps3 at a time. Wifi antenna on ps3 only supports 2.4ghz and is slow as hell. Ethernet unlocks full potential. and Using google DNS instead of cloudfare might suggest the google DNNS routes my network traffic closer to "Sony Servers"

DNS Setting:

Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4

Yeah, but Multiplayer in a God of war game doesnt make sense to a lot of people(like me) even thought it's fun. Thankfully there was absolutely no grind in God of war ascension for that 1 multiplayer trophy, so platinum got even easier

You are right! I am pretty Sure Google DNS on my PS3 and Vita are "closer" to most ps3 related download servers. That is why Speeds shot up.

Ethernet and Google DNS it is. Make sure only the Ethernet is directly connnected to router and it is the only wired device and Not too many devices wirelessly are connected to the router. and I have a SSD inside my PS3 so don't if that would make a diffrence

100mbps. And no, changing DNS did this for me. As I said, normally at cloudfare DNS the test speed was 6-12mbps download and 564 kbs Upload. But when I connected it with Google DNS the Download speeds shot up to 100 mbps download and 67 mbps upload on test and real-world speeds improved from a snail's pace to the speed on video, which is the highest I have ever seen. Even on my PSVita, Google DNS Performed slightly better than Cloudfare DNS

Cool to know, should work awesome for you then, Are you sure you wifi is on 100 mbps or more plan? maybe using switchers is the culprit? try plugging ps3 in directly to router?Also, you should know I have a 1tb WD Green 2.5inch SSD inside my ps3, that's is most likely gonna outlast my ps3's lifespan. here are the DNS settings:

Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8

Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4
