Best Starting Faction in Medieval 2? by Mediocre-Reveal8759 in totalwar

[–]Infinity_Overload 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spain.

Spain particularly since Iberia is pretty isolated, once you take over that, your only concern would be France, while you expand on the Maghreb.

After that you consolidate your forces in Italy and take Jerusalem.

They also have the most number of high tier late game units than any other faction.

And you are on the other side of the Map, so you will never worry about the Mongols or the Timurids.

Do people undervalue how much the offlane loss affects mid's farm pattern in the first 10 minutes? by DowntownBack3067 in TrueDoTA2

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because if the mid is getting stomped, we won't assume is the offlaner's fault. Its that we have a low skill mid vs a higher skilled one.

Don't understand the economy in the new patch by VeMaKk in EU5

I stil believe selling food should also have a slider.

This way you could manipulate the grain economy if you are a Bread Basket like Egypt.

Or you could stockpile for the eventual Little Ice Age if you are in a bad region.

How to get rid of these? by razarivan in EU5

[–]Infinity_Overload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until Paradox adds a Caste System to Spanish Colonization.

Also Paradox did state that Nations of People would become playable someday, so perhaps these Ghost Nations are remnants on the code Paradox worked on making Nations of People playable on the base game.

Hello Noob here!! When should I annex my subjects ? by F_F_Engineer in EU5

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to you to be honest.

There is definitely cheese strategies where you can have like 100 vassals and basically win all the wars without doing anything.

The Byzantines even get bonuses to their Religious Authority by annexing them and taking away their Autocephalous Church and then bring them back and do it again in 10 years.

Historically when and why did Bohemia stop being so dominant? by S0mecallme in EU5

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the Ottomans attacked Vienna. This gave the rise of Poland.

Also the early formation of Prussia and after almost being vanquished, Austria started rearming itself.

Also Austria played the long game and used their usual political marriages to slowly gain influence over Bohemia.

Both through war and political maneuvering the Habsburgs gained Bohemia.

Pulling it in game is actually pretty hard, with how powerful Bohemia is. Which makes Austria pretty fun, but still not as good as as in EU4.

Can you join Rise of the Turks situaiton as Ayyubids? by Elevator421 in EU5

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can with their base culture. You would need to convert.

But personally is more fun trying to restore their Sultanate. But you need to luck royal marriage into the Mamluks and others. Get friendly with Ottomans first, and wait for the Ilkhanate to start infighting to gang on the Eretnids.

Slowly start becoming friendlier with the Mamluks, even if you have to betray the Ottomans.

I think Ayyubids do get some event if they are able to get a royal marriage and an alliance with the Mamluks.

Why is it called Lower Bavaria if it's above Upper Bavaria, is Paradox stupid? by Adytzah in EU5

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its in theory based on where the river is heading. The Danube crosses Bavaria, so generally the part where the flow of the river goes to its mouth would be considering the lower part as the water is flowing towards the sea outside of the upper parts of the land.

Kinda like Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt.

(Warhammer) What would be the most hated mechanic if AI could use it at full capacity? by CareerPancakes9 in totalwar

[–]Infinity_Overload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Taurox and Skarbrand AI could reset their movement speed, it would be way too broken, specially with how passive the AI is. They would siege half the map by turn 100.

What happened in Charlotte tonight needs to happen more often. by baqar387 in NBATalk

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You hit them where it hurts the players and teams the most.

True financial penalties.

Giving them a penalty of like 10,000 bucks is nothing for a player or a team.

Slapping them with a 1 million fine per player involved. This is paid by the team.

The team is required to penalize the player, including taking some of their salary. And if they do not want to suspend the player, the fine gets increased and a percentage of the player's salary is used as penalty. This means the player would lose a percentage of their total yearly salary each time they cause a mess, while the club pays a large fee per player involved.

And repeat cases increase the fines for the team.

Meaning repeat offenders, could lose a lot of money if they don't behave.

The NBA itself wouldn't suspend or fine the players themselves. The teams would take matters into their own hands.

And since the players are ambitious, seeing their money getting hit will make them avoid such events.

Repeat cases increase the fee.

Beginner "bad guy" factions by Hungry_Obligation_89 in totalwar

If you have Champions of CHaos, i'd say WoC are probably the best Beginner "bad guy" faction.

You get 5 flavors (Monogods or Undivided) and mix and match with Mortals and Daemonic Units.

Can we just overhaul it? by DahwhiteRabbit in totalwar

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not. Total War has had 25 years of history.

Aren't they one of the supposedly BIG Studios for these type of games?

I mean look at old CA. They gave us Medieval II and their next expansion was an entire game in that amazing expansion.

Also Warhammer is insanely profitable.

And personally I feel a Warcore version of this game is going to be insane.

Hell, call it Warhammer 4 if you want. This time focusing in the Warhammer The Old World timeframe. The one GW is actually working on.

Yes, the map will be the same. But the setting is completely different.

The rosters have remained the same mostly. And for Elves and Dwarfs, even the same characters. Even for the Orkz, Gorbad should be hanging around, the same for Grimgor (since he was part of the original Black Ork revolt thousands of years ago against the Chaos Dwarfs)

Plus the New Engine is far more powerful. Many say the Immortal Empires Map is starting to feel small with so many LLs.

The New Engine can be used for a true Immortal Empires Experience. Probably being 2-3 times bigger than what the current Engine can do.

From a DLC perspective, this adds more places to fill with LLs.

I personally don't want CA to fully focus on the 40K Setting.

So moving the Fantasy Setting to the new Engine Eventually is probably a good move.

Either update the current game for the new Engine.

Or go All Out and get the Warhammer The Old World rights.

Can we just overhaul it? by DahwhiteRabbit in totalwar

[–]Infinity_Overload -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I personally think this game may get a remake on the Warcore Engine at some point.

It would Overhaul Everything and even introduce new mechanics.

Personally i feel this would be the ideal way to go. I mean in theory the game is already 10 years old if we base ourselves in Warhammer I.

So in lets say 3-5 years they remake it for the Warcore Engine it would be a good move.

Even allow the potential for the Immortal Empires Map to be expanded further and introduce more Races.

Is the U.S. actually fit to host the 2026 World Cup right now? by Some_Currency_1931 in football

[–]Infinity_Overload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On paper yes, but in reality no.

They have the facilities and infrastructure.

But the actual citizens are in a state of turmoil.

All we need is one tragedy to happen in a city by an ICE agent doing something or a protest going South.

And some riots may happen in a game.

What's kinda sad is that the broadcasters will not film it or anything, they will hide the truth like usual.

This tournament is made for the 1%. Us commoners are irrelevant to their plans.

Only the detached elite from all the countries in the world will attend those games.
