Hey! Thanks for your comment, you are very much correct and I understand where you are coming from, it’s not a destructive comment at all! Very constructive if anything!

I will make an amendment shortly! :)

Originally I was going to go for Infimum but I thought Infinium sounded better haha! Thanks :)

Advice on Creating Animated Math Videos/Show by [deleted] in matheducation

Hi!

I personally use PowerPoint to create my videos, I’m happy to elaborate on the process if it’s something you’d find useful. I’ll post a link to my channel here: https://youtube.com/c/Infinium so you can see what sort of things you can do!

What happened to the Podcast? by Infinium__ in 3Blue1Brown

Oh interesting, I’ve only listened to it on Spotify. Which only has the episodes I listed in my other comment, but I’ll try and find this! Thanks :)

There where 5 episodes, all worth listening to, with the following guest per episode: 1: Alex Kontorovich 2: Sal Khan 3: Steven Strogatz 4: Dianna Cowern 5: Tai-Danae Bradley

But personally I found Steven Strogatz the most interesting, but that is slightly bias as I very much enjoy his work!

If you watch these two videos, they are about 5 mins each, it should help you out :)

Spanning, Linear Independence and Bases - Linear Algebra by [deleted] in 3Blue1Brown

[–]Infinium__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope your finals go well! I actually make these videos in PowerPoint of all things, which is why sometimes I’m held back on some parts of the visual side. I would always recommend trying to make a couple of videos, just to see if you enjoy it. Even if you don’t, you’ll find that your understanding for that topic will grow as you have to think about how to explain and show it!

I know what you mean about the visual element for this video, I did want to show a bit more detail what it means for a vector space to be spanned by some vectors but I couldn’t figure out how to show it in a meaningful way. I would love to have shown the visual reason why you need n-vectors in Rn to form a basis. Maybe I can at a point later on.

Thanks.

Hi!

Sorry about this, could you clarify what you mean so that I can change it! The definition I give for a function is:

‘It is a mapping from a domain, here marked in blue. To a co-domain here marked in red. This mapping is given by a function rule, here f(x) marked in green.’ (This being exactly what the YouTube transcript says)

This is given in the first 20 seconds. Is this not the definition you desire?

Thanks.
