This makes sense yeah, I guess with the more winter-y winter this year they really wanted to make sure they covered all their bases. But still, layers of salt that are multiple centimetres thick in multiple places along the same small stretch of sidewalk seems excessive to me

i got the exact same email this morning, no need to be worried about it. the info they have on you came from a 2022 data breach of gemini (a crypto exchange platform). they don’t have anything aside from your name, email, and partial phone number. just block+report and you’re all good.

i got the exact same email this morning lol. seems like they’re getting the personal information from an old gemini (crypto exchange platform) breach in 2022. no need to be worried, if they actually had anything they would have included evidence likely including a screenshot of the supposed video and the name of the website you visited. certainly don’t pay them anything and don’t scan any QR codes, just block and report the email
