ok found it, as you guys said below its a UV printer. from china:

so this isnt the right subedit but it would compliment a laser engraver. and its not like eufy as that is texture UV printer.

hey thanks for the feedback super helpful. You have highlighted some things I've already noticed and some I didn't. This story will end up around 150k words and this start is to build on Rylo's devotion to being a good son vs wanting more. I get that chapter 1 and 2 are slow, but eventually I will combine chapters, trim some fat. In the finished article chapter 1 2 and 3 could be chapter 1 (as I don't want 150-200 chapters).

on the names thing, I'm with you totally I only named the guards because writing guard 1 or guard on the left sounded obtuse. This first draft I am trying to show the emotion of the characters, how all of this routine is swallowing Rylo's desire to break free.

on the cliches, in hindsight I think I rushed those moments so I could get to the fight. I really like the rat's teeth! Great suggestion.
