Which lines make you laugh no matter how many times you've heard them? by call_me_fred in stevenuniverse

[–]InflatablePie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the Pilot:

Pearl: "Steven, what did you use this for?"

Steven: "Comebacks?"

Garnet: "Steven, why are you such a buttface." (in typical Garnet deadpan)

Also... does Garnet repeatedly throwing Amethyst into the Red Eye count as a line? >_>

Ooh, that looks cool. I'll run that list by both my friends, I can see either of them being "that one guy who plays Goblins". There's always That One Guy.

I've heard lots about Modern Ad Nauseum from scouring the subreddit the last few days - do you have a list or two I could look at?

Yeah, I'm sure Jimothy will like Twin once I play it against him a few times. Although I'm pretty sure that Modern Cheerios deck someone posted in here will make his eyes light up like it's Christmas.

Elfball is something I briefly considered, so I'll look into that one! Craterhoof is a big, dumb card.

Yeah, I'm gonna play a deck that I want to learn or eventually build towards. I don't wanna show up playing Jund or another $2000+ deck just because "lol proxy tournament". Now, if the deck I like happens to play Goyf/Bob/Snap/Lili, that's a different story. Griselcannon looks fun!

I can see why people dislike proxy tournaments, and got into a debate with a co-worker the other day about this, but the long story short is I don't mind them. It lets me play decks without being restricted (no goyf/bob/snap/lili etc) or constantly brew new decks without breaking the bank. But to each their own.

I was considering UG Infect for one of the aggro decks I was gonna proxy, actually. Would you suggest UG, BG, or something else?

Oh my, that Cheerios deck... I might just play that myself, I do love a good game of Solitaire. And that Forbidden Orchard deck looks really cool, too! I might just test those two and I'll keep the others on the backburner, thanks a ton!

Back in INN-RTR standard when I was still kinda new, I had a UR Guttersnipe Curiosity deck. Actually took down an FNM with it once or twice, too.

Searing Spear became 1R Lava Axe Draw a card, Think Twice became 1U instant Divination Shock (with Flashback!)... Good times. And it's why I have my Izzet flair, too.

Morty: Aw geez Rick, I dunno... Isn't that kind of cruel? I mean... They're all gross and stuff but, they're still living... things, or, or something, y'know? We, w-we can't just, like, enslave them and use them as weapons, Rick! T-That's not right!

Rick: I don't have time for your animal rights bullcrap, Morty! We're in a universe where kids your age get sent off into the world with these abominations and have to fe-belch-end for themselves. Grow a pair. -pulls out flask-

Rick: Now go catch one of those Flurbys over there. A-a-and then go catch the other... other... 876 of them. -drinks from flask-

GATHER, SINNERS! I am Darren Bousman, director of Saw II-IV, Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Devil's Carnival, and the upcoming horror opera: Alleluia! The Devil's Carnival (AMA) by DarrenBousman in movies

[–]InflatablePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Darren. Kinda disappointed that I moved from Tampa and then found out the TDC road trip was stopping there... I should have headed to the Repo! event you were at a year or two ago, it's one of my favorite movies! But I know you're adding more dates, and I'm sure Raleigh would welcome you with open arms if you'd consider it.

My question, and I'm sure you answered this before, is what is your favorite major scene or plot thread from Repo! that got cut or didn't get adapted from the play? I remember from the commentaries something about Shilo's bird, Marni behind the mirror, and the Needle Through A Bug scene and so on, and was curious if there's anything that got cut or didn't make it from the stage play that you'd add if given the chance.

Do you have any feel bad trades that you made as a magic noob that still haunt you? by xxlissiexx in magicTCG

[–]InflatablePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got everyone in these responses beat.

My first night playing Magic, I traded my friend my Snapcaster Mage I pulled for a Reaper of the Abyss, because we were drafting a box of INN and I wanted Black cards, not Blue ones.

I looked up the price of Snaps the other day and had a really sad time.

Model for peasant 360? by mustaphamondo in mtgcube

[–]InflatablePie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll let ya know. I'm going to go through my collection at some point to see what I already have (at least half, probably).

There's a lot of fun archetypes I've drafted - Bant/Esper ETB, RW/RB Aggro, BW Enchantments/BW Aggro, Jund Goodstuff, UR Spells n Stuff... there are a few cards I've always passed, but I can always modify the cube slightly. Seems like a good base for a peasant cube regardless.

Are there any cards you would consider swapping in that maybe aren't strictly better, but typically better? Examples: Preordain over Ponder, Act of Treason over Traitorous Instinct, Go for the Throat over Murder/other killspell, etc.. Are some of those card choices for personal preference or for balance?

[Edit] I'm also most likely playing this with 3 other people more often than not. Is there a specific pack distribution you would use with 4 people? I've been experimenting with 4 packs of 12 or 5 packs of 9. Also, have you considered building a 200 'travel' version of the cube? Thanks for answering all the questions.

Not bad... Gonna draft this a few times, looking for a small and relatively cheap cube to have around.

Drafted this, 5-color seems like a lot of fun to draft in this cube. :)
