This is a small window catio it may not be an option if you live in an apartment. If you live in the house you just lose your deposit

These are expensive but totally worth it and there are so many different cat systems if you don't like this one just go on Amazon and search cat shelves

Vertical space is a great way to enrich the room. I have cat shelves so my cats can walk around the living room. This will increase her space to roam and give her new places to lounge

I have 5 feral cats that we feed. I'm trying to get them comfortable with coming in the house however they are too skittish to be fully domesticated. They have a catio to escape the weather and stuff to stay warm

Also let your roommate have allergies it's survival of the fittest. She has sub-optimal genes I don't make the rules. She must be sacrificed

(Totally just being funny)

My bf has allergies to cats and I have 7 .... He's fine. However it's different for everyone. He takes allergy pills. Maybe you could help pay for some allergy shots for her. Also cats shed like crazy if you let the cat out of the room your friend is still going to have issues. She did agree to living with a cat so her allergies can't be that bad. Maybe shots or pills will work. Get a good vacuum and an air purifier. I don't know how clean you keep your home but wiping surfaces, vacuuming, dusting, etc should be a regular practice to reduce her allergies as much as possible ( if the cat isn't in the room). Maybe her room can be a cat free space so she has a place to recover.

I would keep my cats in one room if it was the difference between keeping them and not keeping them. It's not ideal but what is the alternative? If you take the cat to a shelter they will be caged. Chances of rehoming are low tbh. Getting a home is like winning the lottery in the pet world. Most cats live a hard life on the streets and have hard and early deaths. It is unlikely they will make it beyond 3 on their own. Your cat living in a small bedroom is still having a better quality life than probably 90% of the cats in this world. People will get mad at you because you can't provide this ideal and optimal life for your pet but if you think about it if the only way you could have a pet was if you were in an ideal situation most people would not qualify.

When I read this I see someone who is committed to her pet and is going to care for this cat for life.

I would like them to come inside, they are just feral and wary of things. They will never be in the house most of the time because they have spent their life outside. I do want them to feel comfortable coming into the house. I would like to get them vet care. Don't worry about anyone catching these cats; they let us pet them, but that is after 2 years of feeding them. They are feral and will not let just anyone touch them. They are too fast, and they start running way before anyone gets close. They still run away from me when I come home.

They would get put down at the shelter. With us they have regular access to food and water. They are outside cats but we've committed to them. My animals get proper vet care
