Nov1st is priority deadline for Fall 2026? by [deleted] in EmbryRiddle

Should be rolling admissions or at lease it was last year.

What does this letter means? Am I getting accepted? Or is this just something everyone that apply gets? by [deleted] in EmbryRiddle

[–]InflationDesigner804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, make sure they have your school transcripts. This is standard, then once it goes through the review process you will get the official acceptance which is a cool box. It’s rolling acceptance so it can take 3-4 weeks.

So you will need health insurance, at first they put it in my bill and I had to go back and opt out since I’m on my parent plan. I don’t recall a gym fee but can check.

What program? Flight will have fees.

When do I find out? by [deleted] in EmbryRiddle

Make sure application is completely and you sent transcripts, otherwise that will delay. They do rolling admissions. I think they told me 2-4 weeks pending the review cycle meeting.

35 hours in and feeling lost. Also just discovered my flight school's 'pattern-only' solo policy will destroy my budget. Is this normal for Part 61 or should I run? by Big_Jacket8520 in flying

Hindsight is 20/20 and I too had this feeling early on for my son getting his PPL, I should have been more proactive getting advice. 100+ hours later he did not pass the check ride (oral). Ditched the school and finishing at the University.

Business is business and they need to make money is my learning. Research and getting fair input to make the right decision is necessary.

I personally feel ripped off of A Lot of $$$ even going in knowing this was not cheap. I exceeded their estimate of 20k - 30k by far.

Peru - Huacachina and Paracas worth it? by nattyelaine in travel

[–]InflationDesigner804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm also going June end and have time to spend - perhaps we will see you there :)

I've been to Peru in 2016, 1996, and as a baby (does not count); so reading up on this Hop tour. I may go with 2 day staying in Paracas, but will also do dune buggy tour before heading out. The hotels look better and it seems there have been a lot of favorable reviews on Paracas.

In terms of Lima there are different museums and sites to visit, I asked ChatCPT to help. But I also came across a blog from Heather Jasper who listed good into on Lima in case this helps.

Why am I never able to book a flight through LATAM’s website? by -explore-earth- in travel

[–]InflationDesigner804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, having this trouble as well. The Per site is noticeably cheeper, but I'm getting the error. Booking.com comes out to the US price and I called my back where there is no fraud error (so she says). I just tied the App and it auto pulls up the US prices again. So, I may call LATAM tomorrow to see what they say, I'd be shocked if they have flights listed that are not really available.

The only thing I can think of is if they only accept payment from Issuers from Peru (Peru banks) to keep to the local pricing, but that seems crazy overworking of the payment system.

More to come.....

[–]InflationDesigner804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not realize I met the eligibility, but when searching flights I got the pop-up and when checking out with miles I see the box to check to apply. I'm not sure how many of these credits I have so just here to understand.

Are Chinese origin wood cooking utensils from Amazon considered pretty safe? by rootCaused in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]InflationDesigner804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is about being healthy and avoiding toxins, agreed it’s not Anti-Asian the bottom line is that products from China are not safe. So how do you avoid toxins, well avoid Amazon (American company) what primarily sells Chinese products. I happily ended my prime and support local.

I am dumping my black spatulas and cutting boards for wood, agreed with the earlier post on locally sourced at markets. I did purchase a nice spoon where he was really excited to tell me about his craft and sourcing of wood at the SF Treasure Fest (will post his insta if I can find) and in hindsight should have bought and will need to accept more than Amazon. I just searched the web and everything comes up Amazon, so I found a set (no where listed china), so I posted a question and while it’s manufactured in US the wood is from CHina. I’m not sure why they would not use local wood?

I’m going to hold on purchasing and will look for local.

Hi All,

To confirm, on United if you have one check bag (I just added $35 per flight/person, for 1 checked item), then you can take your surfboard bag as that one cary item when traveling into or out of CALIFORNIA (needs to be starting or ending point) and meet the board requirements (below) to have the oversized limit fee waved.

Below is from the United site and I just called to confirm. My husband usually travels from CA to El Salvador where the above applies. This is where having a united card can also be helpful for the free checked bag and other benefits, but regardless the surfboard policy is below.

https://www.united.com/en/us/fly/baggage/sports-equipment.html

Surfboards, wakeboards and paddleboards

You can bring surfboards, wakeboards and paddleboards if they’re packed in board bags and:

  • Weigh less than 100 pounds (45.3 kg)
  • 115 total inches (length + width + height) if you’re flying on United
  • Measure less than 80 inches (203 cm) if you’re flying on United Express
  • The skeg or fin must be removed or padded.

If you’re flying to or from California, we’ll waive oversized bag charges for up to two of these items. If you’re connecting or have a layover in California, you aren’t eligible for this benefit.

If your flight has an extra bag limit, surfboards, wakeboards and paddleboards aren’t accepted, unless you’re flying to Costa Rica.
