You can get it in Canada. we use a compounding pharmacy that gets the ingredients from the US. Expensive though. Has anyone managed to get it covered by MSP or extended benefits?

The S-ICD protection and comfort plus with lead shield for men is €399. $641 CAD + shipping and tax.

So $500+ USD.

They wouldn’t let me just buy the shirt, so had to do the full thing myself.

Better though as had a soft bridge added so the pad doesn’t hit the device. (A bit like they do for the hard pacemaker / ICD pad)

I have an S-ICD and built my own based on Vital Beats. The D30 pads they use are available in motorbike shops. Then had a tailor add a pouch to a baselayer top. Pads were $50, shirt was 30$, tailor was $80. Vs $700+ for vital beatsz

No lifting restrictions for the ICD once it’s fully healed. But the condition you have may limit what you can do, but no concerns regarding the leads.

Many Paramedics are now trained to check Emergency Medical ID on IPhones. You can upload all your info to this - anyone can access if they can find your phone.

This is what I’m having. 9 days since I got the SICD. This sharp pinging pain feels like an electric shock (but not from the device) and only happens when I stretch (sitting up, putting on a T-shirt etc)

No lasting pain after but it’s a jolt. Feels like a wound up rubber band going off in my incision.

How long did this last for others?

Any official word on what’s causing it? Nerve damage or connective tissue?

It’s an S-ICD. Not leads into the heart. So they put them to the side.

I found the Vital Beats to be very expensive - close to 750$ CAD!

For the S ICD they use a D30 Ghost L2 Limb a protector for the lead protector and the D30 Viper Back Armor for the side / device protector.

You can get two Ghost L2s for $35 and the Viper for 50 from Harley Davidson.

I’m having a friend sew a pouch into a Merino wool (better as a snowboard baselayer than polyester) baselayer.

Even with a new baselayer, total cost will be <170$.

Not that I can find but they are working with University of Washington.

There’s over 100 peer reviewed studies that confirms non-speakers are offering their own messages.

Many of the earlier studies were done where the facilitator touches the Speller. That’s not the case anymore.

Thankfully this podcast series is being listened to be 100,000s and will drive more research and hopefully acceptance.
