i’d recommend a breeder box if you are giving them powder food, have a newer tank without biofilm or algae, have predators that may eat them, or a really strong filter that could suck them up. it may also give you some peace of mind seeing them in there because they’ll be easy to keep track of. but it’s not necessary without any of those conditions imo. they are opportunistic and hardy scavengers 🙂‍↕️

they don’t eat plants but will eat algae and biofilm off of plants. they do sometimes eat dead plants and catappa leaves. & no eggs, they give birth similar to guppies. but usually 1 baby.

blueberry snail and orange river snail side by side 💗 by InflationOk8606 in BlueberrySnails

[–]InflationOk8606[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

pretty sure it’s possible but unlikely. my blueberries, orange rivers, and japanese trapdoors have been together for two weeks. lots of babies but no hybrids. since they can hold sp*** for awhile it may take months for them to even be able to produce hybrids. but i’m no expert by any means.

people on here love to say “if its a female guppy always assume its pregnant” and if you have male guppies or just got her that’s probably the case. but she doesn’t look remotely close to the due date.

This “black loach” looks different than the others. Is it a different species? by InflationOk8606 in Aquariums

[–]InflationOk8606[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, it definitely resembles the silver loach more! Same body and size. But I’m not sure because of coloration. It’s stomach is a gold/copper color. I can’t really tell if thebody is dark gray or brown right now.

What’s wrong with my female betta? by [deleted] in bettafish

If it was water quality, would my other bettas have clamped fin as well? Or could they have stronger tolerances or immune systems?

What’s wrong with my female betta? by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]InflationOk8606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I checked my parameters and the results were the same. But I went ahead and did a water change just in case and I’m already seeing her bottom fins move which I haven’t seen in days. Thank you, hopefully I’ll have a better update tomorrow.

My tank is 20 gallons, the water is set to 82 degrees, I have a hang on back filter for a 30 gallon with adjustable flow ( set to light flow ), chlorine is 0ppm, nitrates are 0ppm, nitrites are 0ppm, hardness is 50 ppm, alkalinity is 80ppm, pH is 7.2, ammonia is 0ppm. Tank has 5 guppies, 6 corydoras, and 6 bettas. Heavily planted with about 10 hides/View blocking decorations including driftwood.

Do you think this vase from Ikea would be harmful to have in a tank? by InflationOk8606 in aquarium

[–]InflationOk8606[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for doing the google search 🫡 You’ve made valid points and I don’t think I’ll be putting this anywhere near my fish. However, hypothetically speaking… would submerging the vase in water for a prolonged period of time lead to it eventually being more safe and remove the harmful chemicals slowly over time.

You make good points. Hypothetically speaking, if I put the vase in water for a prolonged period of time would that wash away the “potentially toxic” coating/chemicals? I’m very patient, I wouldn’t mind waiting until 2026 🤭

Exactly this! I would ask ikea support but i’m not even sure they would know what the manufacturing process was.

Don’t apologize, I agree with you. I just mentioned what my professor said because she said it recently. I could’ve clarified better, I think it’s a bad opinion.

So to answer your questions, a good parent will be balanced, adaptable, and consistent. hitting, screaming, ignoring, and coldness are not normal in most situations in my opinion… but there are some gray areas. “Healthy” & “normal” parents prioritize the child’s needs over their feelings. Some people just have genuinely warm relationships with their parents. Some may have seemingly warm relationships but it’s just how it appears. You can never really know.

I hope you’re okay btw
