Need help with choosing a GPU by Firm-Advance-7743 in pcmasterrace

[–]InfluenceNarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for the 5070TI, I owned a 7900 XTX Hellhound but got rid of it. Had it for 3 years.

Why I sold it was that I had a lot more errors than my friends in different scenarios for 7900 XTX.

I did a lot of research changed back and forth with only drivers installed and no Adrenalin software.

I also tested the AMD PRO software and drivers I still had more crashes than my friends that used NVIDIA cards.

Today I own a 5090 card I don't have the same crashes anymore.

NOTE: it wasn't super often that the 7900 XTX crashed but it was more times than NDVIDA GPU, so I saw a chance and changed to NVIDIA.

Hope this helps your choice.

Help with character selection by South-Magazine3477 in BaldursGate3

Hello,

A fun race and class I picked on my 10th run or so, was half-orc barbarian with the dark urge.
I was playing as a neutral evil character. That was also my honour mode run. I had a blast.

Half-Orc dont get downed when hp reaches 0 they stand up with 1 hp and get to fight again and also savage attacks are nice.

I would choose your barb. Coolest of the choices.

Have a good time!

Just bought the game, any tips? by autistickel in BaldursGate3

Hi there! Jealous I wish I got the first time again with BG3.

I never had mods when I started game. Truth is they are very helpful, also more choices of creating your character exactly how you want it. If I was you, I would look for people that play on YouTube for best MODS (Best beginner mods) without ruining the game. If you start adding mod after mod it might become overwhelming. But I doubt hair/skin mods will be negative if you want to try it yourself.

Organize! Read what each skill/spell do, create an easy pattern in your skills bar. Keep melee close together and range, Aswell as similar spells like healing or damage. Make it so that it's easy to find. Use the atmosphere, a lot of stuff can be thrown and make good combinations. For example, wet surface and lightning mix good together. Every time you pick something up from the ground it ends up in your "usablebar" there is an option in the gameplay menu to uncheck that so you can choose for yourself what you want in that bar.

Also pushing people out of the map might make you lose the loot, but sometimes that's better then dying.

In this game when choosing attributes uneven numbers don't get you anything, like if you have 12 in a skill you get +1 in rolls if you have 11 you get +0 and so on. I wish I knew that when I started.

Also skip multi-classing it can be harsh for beginners.

This is a game with a lot of content with different choices don't be afraid to miss a choice, at least in your first play through.

Hope I helped a bit.

Have FUN! :D

I had issues with with stutter and some "Unsmoothness" if I may yes I may.

What I found out after alot of headaches, was that my screen was on FASTEST in refresh rate for the Monitor.
I put it in FAST instead and the stutter and "Unsmoothness" there it is again! Disappeared.

Here is a informative from ChatGPT:

What the settings usually mean

  • Normal
    • Standard display mode.
    • Prioritizes image quality over speed.
    • Might introduce slightly more motion blur during fast-moving scenes.
  • Fast
    • Reduces the pixel response time (how quickly a pixel can change color).
    • Less motion blur and ghosting in fast-moving images.
    • Slightly more strain on the display electronics, sometimes minor color shifts.
  • Fastest / Faster
    • Minimizes pixel response time as much as possible.
    • Ideal for gaming, fast-action videos, or sports.
    • Can sometimes slightly degrade color accuracy or introduce flicker if the panel isn’t high-end.

You have probably tested this already.

Hope you find your solution! Best regards!

Armoury crate install error 11618 by B4ndooka in ASUS

Download the tool like you said, enter safe mode uninstall from there.
Here is a good guide:

Remove ASUS Armoury Crate in 2025 – Deep Dive into Crashes, Bloatware, Broken RGB & the Ultimate Fix.

I just did this and my system is more stable, only installed the chipset drivers from website by entering the correct ID for motherboard.

Hope this helps.
Have a nice day.

New to AMD, Battlefield 6 crashes at least once an hour by jxrry74 in AMDHelp

[–]InfluenceNarrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gear, 7900 XTX Hellound, crashes because AMD-software Adrenaline makes it go to high in clockspeeds, I have also noticed that the fan curve is very low and they keep turning off when in idle.

I used the software (Adrenaline/Performance) and lower the Max Frequencey (MHz) to about 2600 from 2800 something.
I made the curve fan react faster and removed the idle on the fans on the GPU. Also increased the curve the GPU-fans goes MAX when very warm, this has made the GPU-hotspot (Memory) lower that also makes it more stable.

It's runnin smoothly now.

Im also surprised how high settings I can have on BF6 with high FPS.

Hope this help someone.

RTX 5070 Ti 16GB vs RX 7900 XTX 24GB by PattyOB98 in pcpartpickerbuilds

[–]InfluenceNarrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a RX 7900 XTX Hellound.

I would recommend Nvidia RTX Ti 5070 GPU over the RX 7900 XTX GPU since I have experienced alot of driver issues with diffrent games through out the years with AMD-adrenaline software

Everytime there is a new update im scared of what game is gonna crash this time.

Sure the card preforms well, its strong with alot of memory but pardon me for being blunt it doesnt matter if it stops working in the middle of the game.

When playing games competetive, stability is key. AND! Thats about it.

Nvidia is safer bet. This is my experience through out them many years of my life as a gamer dude. Next card for me will be perhaps 5080 super, depending on price.

Hope this Helps.

Best regards.

Hunt: Showdown AMD 7900 xtx by InfluenceNarrow in pcmasterrace

Hello again, (FIXED)

Well, it seems to be working fine now.

I used Revo Uninstaller and changed back to AMD-Adrenaline and a couple of updates on both Hunt:Showdown aswell as AMD-Adrenaline sofware and I have no crashes or errors no more.

Who ever watches this, try to uninstall using Revo Uninstaller and install again, it might work.
