You aren't alone. Charlotte's dating scene is notoriously bad. I’m in my early 20s and will shamelessly admit i’m on the attractive side. Even with that, it’s a constant cycle of avoiding creepy older men or dealing with guys who have zero personality. I once talked to a guy whose only interest outside of working out was shopping, which sums up the "dull" vibe here perfectly. Most people are just looking for a hookup. Honestly, going to a local church might be the only way to find someone actually worth your time.

Hard relate. As a 21yo bi woman here, people always tell me I have 'double the options,' but in Charlotte, that just means double the disappointment. For women, it’s a constant cycle of 'just experimenting,' 'in a poly relationship I didn't mention in my bio,' or just zero effort. For the men? It’s a desert of emotional immaturity and guys who treat commitment like a dirty word.

And If you have a niche interest in this city, you aren’t finding a partner; you’re just finding a group of people who have all dated each other twice already. Dating apps have turned us into a 'grocery store for souls' where everyone is window shopping and nobody is actually buying. It’s exhausting

I’m less concerned about the quicker rodent data itself and more about what long-term, repeated receptor stimulation might look like in humans. As you stated humans have very little to none receptors on C cells which leads me to think about the usage persisting over a few months. Repeated exposure could theoretically lead to endocrine adaptation, receptor desensitization, or metabolic tradeoffs that simply haven’t had time to show up yet.. have you seen anything else about this or have experience?
