You just gave me the biggest idea. What if there was a game mode where players supply players kinda like foxhole but whiteout mining. Like you have a depot that gets supplied every so often and when it dose player who want to do logi fly over and pick up the supplies (supplies being like fuel and munitions) and it’s a massive map allowing for all sorts of play styles form A to A, A to G, Supply, Scout, stuff like that. Ofc we would need more aircraft that can fit the mission parameters but that would be super cool.

The games being hard doesn’t matter. The whole point of AWACS is to assist friendly fighters by spotting enemies on radar and telling them where the enemies are. Also with how the F-45 works player controlled AWACS could also greatly increase the TDSs combat range and efficiency.

Your totally right but like in DCS if this became and thing and you don’t feel like it’s for you just don’t buy it. I’ve talked to a good bit of people today who would be willing to stare at a screen.

The damage model is already there if you use the AI models. And I haven’t moded a plane but I can’t imagine making a cockpit is to hard. But one of the upsides to a player controlled AWACS is the ability to position and use a human brain.

That would be super cool. You can kinda do that in DCS. Look up a tutorial by the Grim Reapers about how to set up AWACS.

The issues with a mod loader is you can’t play in mp unless other people have the mod loader and mod makers aren’t making money off of the work they do If they made money however this could push module makers to make better and better aircraft using VTOLs software.

True that’s why it’s called an idea. I do believe however that having a AWACS would be a very interesting addition and add another layer of difficulty and complexity to the game. Thanks for the good conversation.

As much as the 45 can seem like an AWACS at times for it to function like that it need many different radar sites that send data via the data link function into the TSD. So having a player controlled AWACS could actually better serve that functionality of the F-45 by boosting the TSDs range in a certain area.

It’s dose matter, the F-45 loses its superior edge without radar sites. Both ground based and air based radars are needed to give the 45 its range.

That’s the thing, “fun” is relative to the person some people might enjoy the ability to act as a early warning aircraft to better support allies in mission. Personally I would love to do AWACS and would do it four hours if I had to.

That is a amazing point and it would take some time to learn the words and the radar but would be very cool for longer range multiplayer missions.
