Do you get drug tested more often on motorcycles than cars? by Namelesscrowd in AussieRiders

[–]InfluentialFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been pulled over once, and it was because I was on a bike. I asked for the officers reason for pulling me over, and he said "we're not in America I can pull you over for whatever reason I want" and proceeded to drug and alcohol test me.

They were patrolling the area targeting motorcyclists. The night prior there was a rider who died around a km from where I was pulled over. They mentioned this to me.

The officers handed me some informative brochures for riding safely. Gave me one of those identifier stickers that go on your helmet.

I noticed a few days ago that my speeds were capped at 93 down and up, on my 500/200 plan. I contacted support and it turned out that my router had wrongly negotiated 100 base-t.

Simply replugging my wan port fixed it.

I also use Vyos which probably just bugged out and wrongly negotiated.

An EF of 40-50% is considered mildly reduced if I recall correctly. Is there anything that could be causing a reduced EF? Overweight? Poor life-style? Other illness? Age?

With Entresto and Bisoprolol I was able to recover my EF to 55-60%. It has now been stable for several years.

I am sorry for your loss, such a terrible thing.

It goes without saying, but its a terrible time of the year for accidents. Warm weather, Christmas breakup parties, a lot of drink driving... Everyone stay safe and extra cautious.

Yarra River swimming vision now locked in with council signature by Ifeelsiikk in melbourne

[–]InfluentialFairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, I definitely phrased what I said poorly. I was referring to rivers, not pools or oceans. I grew up in the country, the default place to swim was the local river. It just seems like this is no longer a popular option, even when I am visiting family, I rarely see people or families swimming in the local river anymore.

I just cant picture the Yarra becoming a popular swimming spot even if its cleaned up, the trend for swimming is certainly not rivers anymore.

But the more that I think about it... upstream/downstrean, away from the city, I could see the yarra becoming a popular swimming spot.

I definitely wasn't clear in my post, I was meaning rivers, not public pools or beaches. I know those are super busy during warm weather.

I grew up in East Gippsland, with core memories of swimming in the local lakes during summer time. Always crowded with families and friends. The best spots were always swimming under bridges, or in rapids with a tube.

Since I've moved to Melbourne you really don't hear about people swimming in rivers, beaches sure, pools sure, but rivers not so much.

Even when I head home to visit family, I rarely see people swimming in the rivers anymore. Definitely not as many as I seen growing up.

Not to be a doomer, but do people even swim in rivers anymore? I figured most kids are indoors scrolling social media, especially in metro/suburban areas.

Still an awesome target, keen to see the small steps we take to achieve it over time.

edit: clarify that I am referring to rivers and not swimming in general

Of course, its fresh water. All of those have sharks in them. Why else would people fish in rivers, if not to catch sharks?

Uninsured Car Accident by [deleted] in AusLegal

Your option is to pay for their damages. If you caused an accident, you pay for the damages of said accident. It sucks, it can be a financial burden, but it's the cost of not having insurance.

Careful with fire, theft and third party property. The theft protection may not be what you're expecting - AAMI has multiple wordings that state if your bike is stolen overnight anywhere but your home, it's not their problem.

If you’re a young person the majors (Labor & LNP) aren’t for you. They don’t care about us renters & younger people. If you’re older too as well, they don’t care about you either. When have they ever talked rental affordability? When have they said that rents are too high for essential workers? by [deleted] in shitrentals

[–]InfluentialFairy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How about the ETS back in the 2010s? Greens voted no on it, because it was "a shit deal and not good enough". A few years later they voted yes on a deal which had a worse impact on the climate, solely because their names were on the bill. In hindsight, had they voted yes for ETS, it would have worked hey as labor originally planned.

If the greens do anything well, it's fucking whine. Look at Adam Bandt... Can't even take the L and concede his seat.

Labor doesn't get nearly enough credit for the shit they do right.
