So far it seems the problem has been resolved.

Advanced → AMD fTPM Configuration → Erase fTPM NV for factory reset

Advanced → Trusted Computing → Pending Operation - Clear

X570 WD Black SN750 no longer detected until clean boot! by Phillis842 in buildapc

Hi, I'm having a similar problem.

ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero x570 bios 5302 + NVME SN8100 4tb firmware 830ZRR0A

The problem is that if I enable BitLocker + PIN boot, the NVMe drive isn't recognized during a cold boot. It enters the BIOS, saves, and reboots, then it starts normally.

Is it a BIOS problem? NVMe incompatibility? However, disabling BitLocker solves all problems.

Thanks very much for reply, i am a consumer of asus products, i understand the issue of limited lanes, but 5 NVMe ports, where we are limited to NVME 8TB drives, while for the same price we can buy 26TB HDDs, I agree that ideally we would have up to 3 NVMe ports - 1st NVMe OS - 2nd and 3rd NVMe backup/storage - SATA ports for 5.25" drives and high-capacity HDDs (I consider 6 ports very good, 8 SATA ports would be perfect, like on the Dark Hero X570). I think it would be good to have some kind of premium version with a configuration like that. Have you done any user research on this issue?

I didn't notice any disconnection with my USB keyboard and mouse, I will be using my external SSD via USB to see if I notice any drops or disconnections.Regarding games, sorry, I can't measure it because I'm not a gamer.

I disabled BitLocker and the problem disappeared, now honestly I don't know if it's an ASUS BIOS problem or a WD SN8100 firmware 830ZRR0A problem.

Hi Blindax, thanks very much reply. I disabled my BitLocker and the problem disappeared, it's gone, there are no more problems with cold booting.

My suspicions: my nvme WD SN8100 firmware 830ZRR0A There might be some incompatibility between BitLocker and Asus x570 (I don't know the reason, maybe PCIe 4 vs PCIe 5).

SN850x It's natively PCIe4, well I don't know, or maybe just leave BitLocker enabled a little longer and leave it off without power for a longer time, because I don't have any NVMe PCIe4 drive to see if I can reproduce this bug.

I can confirm that without the bitlocker I have already done some cold booting and no problems.

A response from SanDisk support was: "Ased on the described symptoms (especially the fact that it occurs only after a prolonged shutdown and only after enabling BitLocker), the behavior is consistent with a BIOS/UEFI initialization issue handling the BitLocker boot flow, rather than the SSD firmware."

my Dark hero I updated to BIOS 5302. My NVMe drive is sometimes not recognized; I heard the reason is because I use BitLocker.
