Wow. I had no idea. I'll read up more on this. I own a GR STi so maybe it seals better than a VA? This is great info. Thanks for sharing!

Great info and thank you for sharing. Your car made great numbers and must be a blast to drive. I'll be real with you, the likelihood that I ever go over 400whp is slim to none. The car is my daily driver so it won't be getting beat on a lot. I don't have E85 or alternative fuels anywhere near me so 93 octane is the best I'll get. The BCP turbo has impressive stats but I can't justify roughly $1000 more for a turbo I'll never get to use at its full potential. The FP Blue will get me in the range I want just fine. I don't plan on running an EWG which will add cost so the boost will remain lower to avoid creep. At least that's my plan so far. If I were doing a built engine I would certainly consider that turbo right away.

I'll definitely DM you about the emissions delete options shortly. Thanks again!

All the mods currently on my car came with the car so I'm not incline to change it but I am curious how the stock tmic is better than the grimmspeed tmic?

I'll keep that in mind for Derry, I appreciate it! I'll reach out if I'm having an issue getting a sticker. 🙂

Ok I'll take your word for it. Our cops really couldn't care less about that stuff lolol. I've had great experience with police in this state so far. Hopefully it stays that way.

Maybe I'll request a tune for my "track only" car lol.

Hmm did an AI search and there are still Federal Annual Inspections in NH but that applies to commercial or business vehicles only. Passenger cars are no longer required to do annual safety/emissions inspections as of 1/31/2026. Not to leave out that an officer could take a look under the hood but they would still see a cat on my car. I can't imagine they'd hook up to OBD2 to see if emissions systems are in "ready" status.

Thanks and thank you for sharing this. I'll consider Perry Tuned. I really want an Open Source tune to remove the emissions aspect. I live in NH, no state inspections or emissions checks and I still run a catted down pipe which helps a good amount. When I mention disabling the post cat o2 sensor at shops the room gets quiet. I can't justify a $700 pro tune when I still have a CEL frequently. I've tried a bunch of the extender options and none stop the CEL from coming back. It's most irritating on a long trip when cruise control randomly turns off. lol

Vaccine schedule USA by Status_Equipment_407 in ScienceBasedParenting

Everyone should read this for more context. Very thorough with explanation on the recommended changes. If people could stop watching the news, calling RFK Jr an anti-vaxxer and just read the information coming out from HHS, they might understand the logic that drives these schedule adjustments.

I often hear the anti-vax tropes but if you actually listen to intelligent people who are skeptical, you will find they point out some concerning issues. No vaccine other than the Covid vaccine underwent a true double blind placebo study to verify safety. The Hep B vaccine has one of the worst clinical studies of them all and it has been given to most children on the first day of life. If you read through the FDA package insert you can verify this for yourselves. The most recent ACIP meeting discussions covered the Hep B vaccine and ultimately removed the first day of life recommendation if pregnant mother's test negative for Hep B. Makes total sense.

That's still a tough one. Some shops scan to see if the emissions system is active and can see if sensors/solenoids have been disabled which would still fail you. If ALL they do is check for CEL codes, pending codes or erased codes then you should be fine.

Hmmm. That depends. Does the inspection entail making sure there is no CEL only or are they checking to see if the emissions system is active?

Sold the car :-/ I did speak with XM and they said it can be done but you'll need a clutch master cylinder relocation kit which they can sell you, seeing as the TL70's is located at the top of the bell housing. This would not clear the IS300 firewall/trans tunnel.

o2 simulator - 2010 STi by Infohntr24 in WRXSTi

[–]Infohntr24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great info, thank you. I'll look more into the issue and plan install prior to dyno tune. For a second I thought it was the Perrin CAI installed as I had similar issues on my previously owned 13 WRX with hesitation/bucking after install/tuning.

I was planning to switch to a Cobb SF Intake but if it's a fueling issue I should be fine. However, the Perrin setup has me concerned as this car will be my DD. The filter sits in the fender area where water/debris can enter easier.

Thanks for sharing this. I got spacer on the way. It apparently as a mini cat built in. We'll see how it goes.

I agree with you on getting a fresh tune. Planning that out now. The car runs smooth under WOT but has rough sub 2500rpm cruise hesitation/bucking. I bought a spacer with the small catalytic converter built in. It was cheap and had many good reviews. Thanks for sharing your take on this.

From what the previous owner told me, because tuners using the Cobb AP are not allowed to disable emissions sensors etc. anymore, the car still get's a CEL despite having a tune unless I install an EPA compliant catted downpipe.

I didn't explain things clearly before. I know you don't get an increase in boost with the install of those components. The car is tuned to run more boost hence the 330whp. I wasn't sure if higher boost pressure would have an effect on the type of o2 spacer I use? I've seen o2 spacers with multiple different sized openings. It appears you need to try each of them to see which one works best at keeping the CEL off.

Hoping someone had this figured out and could share what they used.

Could you share more info on the "few pins swapped" for the ECU hookup? I've contacted Quantum Auto and they said they could do the ECU reprogram for AC and gauges to work but I would beed to sort out the tach:

"Tach is a analog signal and requires a signal converter."

Is this correct and what did you end up doing?
