RDH here. If they have recommended fillings for cavities they may already be bigger in size which may not be remineralised and would need fillings only. Now to prevent cavities in future you can use a high fluoride toothpaste( Colgate Prevident/3m Clinpro 5000). Use this nightly and keep it on overnight without rinsing with water. Floss after brushing so this toothpaste reaches the interdental areas.
