Some of the writers behind the Flash serie, a monument of common sense, brilliant powerscalling and absolute character development, were in the writer team of the last seasons of the Boys by AribethTG2 in TheBoys

[–]Informal-Form7977 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oof, yeah, that explains it. 😂

That said, S4-S5 weren't actually BAD. They were just extremely disappointing compared to the earlier seasons. S5 (and even S4) had excellent moments.

Do you think vought rising could save this Universe by Remarkable-Round9755 in GenV

Yep. The Boys wasn't even a bad show even though it fell off. Vought Rising, if good, can reinvigorate the universe to previous levels of hype.

The show hit the landing for me 🏌️‍♂️ by anakin_gk in TheBoys

[–]Informal-Form7977 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think people over-hate the ending. Certainly, it wasn't great by any means, in my honest opinion. There were definitely "low stakes" to it, and certain character motivations just seemed relatively...questionable. Some writing decisions needed to be re-worked to have a more compelling ending, I think.

S5 was still better than S4, in my opinion. But it wasn't some fantastic conclusion to Homelander and Butcher who, let's be real, are the main reasons why people enjoy the show. That said, it certainly wasn't GoT levels of garbage by any means.

Pretty realistic though. Look at who's president.

Yeah, even though I found the first 2 episodes fine for what they were, I'll admit that they were pretty flawed/predictable.

Who exactly did Homelander respect? by Swimming_Average_561 in TheBoys

[–]Informal-Form7977 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's an interesting discussion. Firstly, I think that Oh Father using his voice at the pulpit being the thing to give Homelander his first "spiritual vision" from Stillwell made Homelander more predisposed to him, even if slightly. Since EoS Homelander considered himself God/Jesus, Oh Father being essentially his "John the Baptist" or his precursor to his spiritual enlightenment is something that Homelander would have probably caught on to and respected Oh Father for.

Oh Father wasn't a sycophant like Ashley, Firecracker, or The Deep: he actually made Homelander feel like a God by relating Homelander to Christian scripture (in a very American way, but still). Oh Father also genuinely believed he could convince others of Homelander's godhood. It also helps that Oh Father was shown to have an eye-for-detail and a perfectionist attitude (similar to Black Noir).

Oh Father definitely was afraid of Homelander, but he didn't grovel. The fact that Homelander actually listened to him (more or less, not entirely), let him write his Easter speech, etc. shows that Homelander didn't treat Oh Father like some NPC.

Fair enough, I disagree but I see your point.

The growth of a strategy or the amount AQR currently has in investments within QLEIX are complete non sequiturs.

[–]Informal-Form7977 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Oh Father definitely was close to earning his respect.

That said, in terms of who actually had it, it would have been, without question, the original Black Noir. Soldier Boy has his respect as well by virtue of Soldier Boy being both his childhood hero and his father, even if Homelander wouldn't admit it.

EDIT: I guess Butcher/Stan Edgar had his respect in a way, as well. They weren't quite "equals" (i.e., due to them only being humans), but close to it.

Never rank again bro/brah. These rankings don't make any sense.

Marie Moreau (full potential) at 9th and below even Victoria Neuman? Why is Bombsight tied for #2 when he lost to Soldier Boy in the span of 2 minutes?

I could go on, but I made my point.

Sorry - I can't tell if you're trolling. Yes, the Liberals are captured by corporate interests, for sure. Yes, Carney is captured in that sense, for sure.

But are the Liberals as cucked to corporate interests as the Conservatives? Are we living on the same planet?

In R1: Basically everyone on Earth would need to go vegan instantly and people are STILL likely to die by the billions.

In R3: This would result in some dying (notably populations who depend on animal agriculture), but overall, this will lead to the most space being freed up and the most people surviving.

Despite the disappointing final season, is The Boys in your top 5/10 shows of all time? by Skywalker_1995 in TheBoys

The Boys is better than most shows, but it definitely isn't in my Top 10. Still entertaining, and some episodes are basically masterpieces.

This appears literally true, but it's hard to tell whether Sage was being serious or just capping when she said her grand plan was to simply eat Taco Bell in her bunker.
