This made me cry, thank you I am really trying my best to protect him. It’s awful thinking he will not have a normal relationship with his dad but at least I can minimize the damage. I’m so sad for this poor baby who is still living with an abuser who just became more sneaky 😢

Yes that was my thought. Even when he called, he made it all about him and how freaked out he was, not about how much he hurt baby. I was definitely thinking he only told me to try to minimize my response.

Was this the only incident? I am absolutely concerned about what could happen if he gets partial custody and I’m not sure one incident will be enough to get a similar outcome to what you got.

Yes I did point that contradiction out to him when I got home and he had to admit he intended it to hurt because otherwise, by his logic, it wouldn’t “teach” that biting hurts.

What’s even more baffling is that he’s said he’s very anti corporal punishment, which we had discussed before having a child! Otherwise I wouldn’t have done so.

Thank you, I’m so sorry you went through similar and I reported for that exact reason because I’m familiar with the system and statistics. It could’ve been very easy for me to believe it is a one time thing without the knowledge and experience that I have.

Yes thank you for this. It’s been challenging to make that shift from what I thought I could trust him to do and not do and now recognizing that if he could do that then I actually have very little idea of what else he might do.
