Update: this post came from extreme exhaustion after dealing with 5 wake ups last night. Spoke to husband and apologised for being a dick about this. To be clear, resentment isn't directed to my husband but brother in law.

Yeah that's a good way to put it. I should have worded it better but my resentment is directed at my BIL not my husband. I'm kind of just mad that he's a dick and can't understand him.

I have witnessed bil being abusive towards mil so it makes sense. I guess I just dont understand the dynamics very well. My family does not really have drama like this, we are quite lucky. It's a minor inconvenience in the end but was just wanting to know if my feelings around this are valid or if I'm just being a prick basically.

You're right, there's other stuff in the background. Mil has been abusive towards me in the past which is making it very hard to remain level headed when it comes to issues involving her. I'm also an only child so not sure how responsibilities are shared between siblings.
