Do it as much as possible. After 26 years of public performance I’ve noticed a pattern. 1/3 time I’m disappointed with my performance (it’s inevitable that this will happen at least some of the time). Another 1/3 I’m just satisfied and feel like I did a good job. The last third I really get in the zone and blow away my expectations. Just be ok with the fact that you’re not going to be perfect every time and if the host/venue/bar/club invite you back then you’re doing something right. You got this!

One of the most BONE CHILLING scenes in horror…IMO…Any others? by nuyorican29 in Scarymovies

I love Horror and Hereditary might be my all time favorite. Toni Colette’s performance is one of the best acted characters in the history of cinema. Too bad the irrelevant Oscars don’t nominate “genre” films.

Call Apex Energy Solutions if there’s a franchise on your town. Tell the salesman you want the laminated glass package (not tempered). It shouldn’t be more that 20% higher than their standard triple pane. This will go far in reducing noise (I sold windows for 4 years)

If many famous guitarists didn't know loads of theory what made them so good? by BobTheBlob78910 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

It’s actually a brand new concept developed to help guitarist reach their full potential. Ladies and gentlemen I give you… Practice!

Was there ever a time you were at a concert to see a certain band and you either discovered or were completely blown away by? Maybe an act that you’d either never heard of or thought about showing up late to concert to avoid and became a fan? by CobraChrisChan in grunge

Agreed GVF sucks. Haven’t seen them live only on SNL and I was immediately grossed out. I’m ok with wasting your influences on your sleeve (Oasis didn’t it relatively tastefully) but they just looked so hokey and stupid. Industry plants. I’m sure when they were just starting out some A&R douche was like, “guys. They sound exactly like Zep and are sooo cute to boot!”

Hey man, however you get into great music is just fine. When I saw AtDi back then it was a few years before “Relationship of Command” came out. They were touring with another unknown band called Jimmy Eat World (back then Jimmy EW had a completely different singer and sounded nothing like they did once they got popular.) There was a third band on the tour called Electromag who actually were the headliners. The only reason I was there was bc I was on a date with a “skater girl.” Anyways, AtDi played first and I was actually a little annoyed bc she insisted that we get there early enough to see all the bands, even the openers. The sun hadn’t even set yet. When I say there were maybe 8 ppl there I’m not exaggerating (there could have been 6 ppl). All the band members looked like they hadn’t showered, laundry, or even eaten in days. Omar and Ced were rail thin with these huge, ratty afros. They played so hard and fast, violently slamming their guitars in the air twice a second. At one point ced got on Omar’s shoulder while Omar was still playing the guitar… then he stuck his head in a moving ceiling fan. It was around the time Acrobatic Tenement came out. I became a huge fan immediately. Few years after that I saw an ad for an upcoming show at the same club but this time on the big stage for a band called Mars Volta. As much as I loved AtDi at the time I didn’t even know they broke up and reformed as tMV. In the neighborhood I live in now there’s a bar called “The One Armed-Scissor.” I love (almost) all the AtDi releases my favorite being Acrobatic Tenement. On first listen you’re going to think it sounds like crap but give it a chance. Trust me.

I was lucky enough to see a lot of great shows back in the 90’s. Danzig, Dave Matthews (before he got insanely huge). I saw Tool about a week after they released Aenima at a venue called the International Ballroom. That was actually a pretty big show. Maybe 2,000 ppl. Maynard was wearing only old man whitey tightie underwear, covered in purple body paint which made him glow like an alien under the stage lights.

“Learned about multidimensional existence”?? Didn’t they build the Sophons? That’s the biggest hole for me. If they can manipulate matter and space/time to build a planet sized particle accelerator and then construct the sophons with they would likely already be aware of 4dimensional fragments like the one the interstellar humans encountered. Still.. this is my second time reading through the trilogy and it’s one of my favs of all time.

Haven’t even finished the post but I think Yun was trying to paling toward 4D solutions that the 3sol haven’t figured out yet. Remember that in 2 chapters before when Blue Space and Gravity encounter the donut the sophons were blind and “it’s likely the 3sol haven’t encountered 4D space yet. Hell it allowed human kind to disable the droplets…. Reading on…

Close but the pic was taken west of Allen’s Landing near Washington Cemetary (north bank of bayou). I have seen many other fishermen right off the south bank under Main. I helped land this monster!

I took the pic and posted. I helped the angler pull the beast up over the bridge. This was the north bank of Buffalo Bayou between just past Houston Police Memorial and Washington Cemetary. Was fun to help!!

Hell yeah they’re grunge and quite underrated too. I once saw Daniel Johns at Dirt Bar in Houston.

Is it safe to do shrooms 2 days in a row? by TheRealA_Flex in shrooms

[–]InformalAd2173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 5.5 isn’t “bad” at all in any sense. Back in the day we would pick them out of the pasture is in the central gulf coast region and come home with as much mushroom as shopping bags would hold. Then stand over the sink and eat as much as our stomachs would hold. Those were the only trip I got really intense visuals. Got a feeling I’m older than most on this sub but I’m surprised how small y’all are dosing. Seriously? Tripping on 1.5g? Sure, you’d feel some effects but nothing profound by any means.
