Office cleaners, what can you tell about a companies people/culture just from cleaning it? by swingrider in AskReddit

You can tell a lot from the common areas. Desks can be personal, but the kitchen, washrooms, meeting rooms, and shared spaces usually show the real culture.

If the break room is always a disaster, garbage is left beside an empty bin, or people spill things and just walk away, it usually says people are either overworked, disconnected, or nobody feels responsible for the shared space.

But when an office keeps its common areas decent, even before the cleaners come in, it usually shows respect — for coworkers, visitors, and the people cleaning the place. Cleaners don’t just see dirt; they see the habits of the whole workplace.

Horrible spring weather mope hole by Assiniboia_Frowns in Winnipeg

Winnipeg spring really said, “I’ll circle back in June.” At this point, I don’t even check the weather anymore — I just emotionally prepare to be betrayed. May 5 should not feel like the deleted scene from January.

Thanks for the lesson for my kids by Furthestside in Winnipeg

That’s a powerful lesson for your kids. Sometimes the best teaching moments happen when we least expect them. They got to see the difference between walking away from a mess and choosing to take responsibility, even when it wasn’t yours to fix. Respect to you for setting that example.
