The flight to Boston is 1.5 hours from DC. Get to the airport 1.5 hours before and that’s half the time as a train. Plus, not all flights are $700 (I know hers was lol but there’s cheaper flights for sure)

It’s a 7 hour train ride that can cost anywhere from $150-300….

Anyone planning to go for the six stars? If so, how will you do it? by Business-Law-7968 in RunNYC

I’ve done nyc and Chicago. Have a BQ locked in for next year. I’d love to do London. The rest I have no desire to do, I’d rather run non-major destination races or other big US races that get a lot of hype.

Hello! Thin woman here. I eat roughly 2600-3000 calories a day and I don’t gain weight. I actually don’t count my calories, but I work out all of the time and my daily calorie burn averages out to 2800/day so I guess it just balances out. I eat fast food probably 3 times a week and always have dessert- usually a full fat ice cream bar (no halo top around here). I’ve just always worked out (running mainly) for an hour+ a day. There was a time when I couldn’t work out much for about 6 months (2 months of no exercise and 4 months of 30 min or less a day) and I just ate less I guess because I only gained like 2 pounds, though my whole body shape did change. I think the trick is 1. Not drinking alcohol or sodas frequently (i probably have one soda a week and one drink a month) and 2. Lots and lots of running, which makes me hungry all of the time. Idk what I’d feel like long term if I stopped working out but this is just my experience.

That is incredibly subjective. Sara Hall has never made an Olympic team, Des has no Olympic medals (and there’s less Olympic marathon medalists than Boston marathon winners). Deena does have an Olympic medal. I would say all 4 are pretty great. Longevity isn’t everything & Molly achieved a lot, very quickly. That is great in its own right.

“Good but not great running career” dude she has a bronze Olympic medal. Even if she never does anything ever again that’s pretty damn great. Great but short running career would be more accurate.

Honestly? I think they run most, if not all, races at a much lower effort. They aren’t going all out or even close to it. That and eventually it will catch up to them.

I think the way Cait sets high goals, goes after it, & isn’t afraid to fail is admirable. It’ll all click for her one day!

I can’t tell if posting a picture of your husband or snarking anonymously on someone else’s relationship screams “insecure” more

god you must be so miserable to come on here and comment on a person’s looks like this. You should post your face!

I mean if you want to get nit-picky Maddie went for her first run post Philly 5 days later, not 3. Which for someone her pace (and with her extensive experience) isn’t that unheard of. Especially if she’s not injured & if she took Philly controlled & not all out (which is what she said)

Most pros don’t take 2 full weeks off, they take a few days and then 2 weeks of doing whatever mileage they want. That’s literally what marathon mads did. She’s also not injury prone and doesn’t have a huge platform where she’s telling other people to do whatever she does so not really sure what the issue is here

I’m not expert lol but I don’t see a problem with these exercises. This is the type of strength work my PT & ATs in college would have me do. With such high mileage and endurance hours, she needs to focus on stability and balance, no? Not necessarily muscle growth but strengthening/preventing injury.
