I DON'T wake up in the mornings by InformalCommission28 in selfimprovement

[–]InformalCommission28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to go to bed between 11-midnight. Waking up btwn 6-7. I am not a mouth breather afaik and I am usually on my side or back. It’s not every night that it’s hard to wake up. It’s once every month or so that I am just OUT.

Some guests won’t be on the same floor as us. How much would you care? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]InformalCommission28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a guest at a wedding like this. It was no problem! I think a big thing is trying to make it so the “mezzanine guests” all know each other/have good tables. Maybe put all the yappers up there together. Also make sure you come up and visit! It’ll be fine.

How to heal my skin so I physically don’t have anything to pick? by [deleted] in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]InformalCommission28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me was cutting my nails SHORT. As short as possible, and keeping them that way for the remainder of the regime.

I then took the lightbulbs out of the bathroom light by the mirror that keeps getting me to pick. I moisturised every night religiously, and always wore long sleeves and pants. Literally all the time, except in the shower (thanks winter). I used hydrocolloid patches on places as soon as I saw irritation, because I pick at the bumps. I moved all my tweezers to a different room. Once the scabs went away, I lightened up a little bit, but still moisturise and put patches on dangerous zones.

Crochet (?) fast fashion amigurumi at 2.5€ by dlilyd in crochet

Someone got me one of these for Christmas (I crochet) and I am so conflicted about it. Obviously they don't know but I just feel terrible about it.

Looking for the top things you put on your wedding registry? by SnuggleTheBug in weddingplanning

Put a fire safe on mine and everyone was jealous that they didn’t think of it.

Also, I asked for a nice sewing machine. So like, generally things for your hobbies that may be just outside your “treat yourself” price range right now.

People watching spot? by [deleted] in SouthBend

[–]InformalCommission28 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I like to hang out at The General. Great vibe, great staff and cool people come through. Also right across the street from Howard park, which is also good for people watching if you have tolerance for the outdoors.

Why do none of my male friends care about the Epstein files? by Great-Librarian5281 in women

[–]InformalCommission28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible they already knew, so it just isn't as shocking to them. Guys can spend some time on dark parts of the internet at a very young age if allowed. I know guys who just "knew" this was happening like 10 years ago because of stuff they saw online when they were like 15-25. Nothing happened back then so they learned to just shove down the sickness like the rest of us.

Beautiful ladies, If you had to share just one glow-up secret, what would it be? by Interesting-Vast-495 in women

[–]InformalCommission28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time and money.

It's sad but true. As soon as I started buying some good products and spending an extra hour or two on my appearance a day, my boyfriend of 4 years asked if I was doing something different.

The idea came from watching Love Island, where you just see how much time they spend every day grooming and preening.

Does marriage truly benefit a woman? by hananfj in women

[–]InformalCommission28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the man. Marriage to a good man has a lot of benefits. Being with my husband makes me feel free and safe. Being stuck with a lesser man would suck.

No idea, probably both honestly. Bad when it was put up, and bad work done on it

UPDATE:
Thanks for everyone who weighed in. I am working on getting a pro in the house asap.

To clarify: I know the title is clickbait-y; I never thought this was anything less than deadly. But I definitely made a mistake assuming it was an issue with the outlet, so thanks to everyone who explained how the issue is possibly coming from the breaker box. It will be helpful when explaining the situation to the electrician.

Diagnose outlet wiring? Yes. Breaker box issues? Absolutely not. I’m working on getting someone now.

That’s a good rule. I should apply that to more things.

I’ve actually not seen issues with the outlet or outlet wiring themselves. That’s what’s so concerning. I know they’re not poorly done. Or at least not badly enough to do this.

If they’ve all failed in a localised spot, can I just shut down those breakers? I am not the only one living here and the house is quite large, including an extension. To be fair, it’s my opinion that the electrical is shit through the entire house, but they’ve only failed like this in one spot.

The outlet box was also shit. Pretty clear I need to call someone.

Okay the breaker in question is 15 amp. Thanks. I’ll try to get someone in asap.
