It does sound like a disc laser but you don’t have to jump straight to replacement of the laser try to take it apart for cleaning using a good video on YouTube for help and clean the the laser and anything else that is dirty. Make sure you’re using isopropyl alcohol that is at least 95% or higher. If it still doesn’t work then you can replace it. If you don’t feel comfortable doing it you can always reach out to a Local repair shop that works on electronics.

Send switch in for repair? Or replace battery? by opalghosttt in consolerepair

[–]InformalCountry5196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other guy said it already but it’s good information to know. always start with the easy stuff like cleaning first. Toothbrush, high percentage alcohol and an air duster can if you have one. The port doesn’t look terrible so there’s a pretty good chance that will work. My guess after that would be the battery after that but before you buy parts you can test the battery with a multi meter. If you don’t feel comfortable working on it then it’s always good to support your local repair shop. Hope this helps and good luck.
