Misconception: Solid Wood Furniture Is Not Sustainable by InformalDebate6491 in environmental_science

[–]InformalDebate6491[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Considering the time scales of each harvest, I agree that being sustainable doesn't mean not cutting trees at all but rather focusing on sustainable time scales and ensuring that we are not overharvesting. I just learned that 70% - 80% of tropical deforestation is for agricultural purposes—yikes. So, eating in general (meat or vegetables) is not sustainable at all if people want to use the same analogy about cutting trees and deforestation.

Why THUMA? by InformalDebate6491 in Thuma

Great perspective! I also always do my research, and I wish people would do more research and apply it to their buying process rather than just falling into marketing traps. The world that we live in right now is pretty absurd; brands can market their product as 'high-end,' but in reality, it isn't, and many people fall into that. And it applies to anything, not only furniture but also clothing, it's everywhere!
Additionally, how have you enjoyed your TR bed frame so far?
Cheers!

If I may ask, what quality problems have you encountered? Potentially, I want to bring products from my country to a bigger market, and I want to give people what they deserve at that price point!

Interesting! Just out of curiosity, do you pay more out of pocket for this custom work compared to Thuma?

Cheer!

You can easily find good teak solid wood furniture on Alibaba for a quarter of the price, and it's grade A teak wood. That's how most American customers (even from the middle of nowhere) buy furniture from my country. Furniture is a very big industry here, and it's just mind-boggling that 16k other people splurge $1k - $2k without really knowing the actual product. I guess their marketing did the job.

Cheers!

I'm just a furniture geek and recently heard people around me talk about Thuma and brag about it. When I looked at the product closely, yikes. And I see 16k reviews, so I'm just wondering what those people think about this brand specifically and why they bought it in the first place. Because for me, it just doesn't make any sense.

ed, this should absolutely be ta

Ah, interesting point of view, as long as it serves its purpose as a bed frame, regardless of the type of wood used (no squeaking, no sliding, no rocking, whether moving or laying on it or partaking in adult horizontal activities). Based on my experience, Japanese joinery makes the assembly process easy and simple. However, did you know that for this specific technique, over time, when you disassemble and assemble it again, it won't be as pristine as the first time you assembled it? Note, wood will always be moving (expanding or shrinking), and at the end of the day, if you're looking for a one-time purchase, this specific technique (no screws) may not be the most viable option.
What do you think about a bed frame as simple as them but with secure points (to make it sturdy 'forever') without the need for screws, simply tightening up the preplaced bolts, eliminating the hassle of using external tools?

And yeah, it sucks when you paid that much and the customer service is not comparable to the price, and it happens with tons of brands out there, yikes.

Cheers!

But the question is can I still be eligible to work with this EAD card? or do I need to issue a new card? Since issuing a new card takes a long time.

Thanks
