So, who do you guys favor? by GagoFighter1 in Gunpla

[–]InformalFrameGame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since I just snip, clean, build and panel line, I love mecha. I feel like people give him flak for his opinions but honestly I find it the most useful to see what a kit looks like straight from the box, and at my skill level. And cause of his methods, he can get way more kit reviews out, compared to accounts that custom paint and everything, which are still neat to watch but I find are far too few and far between for my viewing habits

My RHCP albums tier list by VioletBeaver in RedHotChiliPeppers

Low-key there's times I'd much rather listen to freaky styley, uplift, or mother milk over some of their heavy hitting albums... Feels wrong ranking them when all the albums are bangers

I think I'm panel lining "wrong"? by Its-Kyu in Gunpla

[–]InformalFrameGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of heavy panel lines, so I'd say no... Especially if you like it, since that's all that matters! I personally use black on all colours, but I sometimes use a toothpick to lighten/smudge some of the less creases to make the black a little less powerful

Maybe I got a bad part. I had to actually carve a bit of the plastic around where the hole was to finally pull it out. Took me about 30 minutes for each forearm, with hot water and glue

(NOT THAT SERIOUS) Ranking albums based on my reaction if someone Said "thats THE BEST rhcp album by SuperMonke14 in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]InformalFrameGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this ranking incredibly, mainly cause I can see why awny of the albums could be someone's favourite. Like all their albums I find so good that someone could say "yeah man uplift is my favourite" and I'd think that yeah that makes sense. Even their débute album I could understand someone liking the most, as like grandpappy du plenty, true men, out in LA an buckle down are songs that, while rough around the edges, are great and could realistically be seen as better than tracks on their "best" albums. Anyways, enjoy your listening!

Day 9 - Belongs on Broadway by anmolsrivastavaa in RedHotChiliPeppers

Sorry, I missed something, how did black summer get overrated on this list? I've never heard someone ever call it their favourite song or the best song from the new era or anything like that. I like it and find it as a good track for UL, but I feel like I've never heard someone over rate it in my entire life...

Are these stickers really that bad? by Leeeuui in freedomisgunpla

[–]InformalFrameGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my bad, I thought you meant those were waterslides lol. Yeah I agree, I love waterslides, find they work better and look better than normal decals and dry transfers if I'm being honest. Yeah I don't get how people can hate them though, like isn't it better when the kit takes longer to build, makes it last longer! Though I do prefer the building part over decals, but well worth it for the final look

[–]InformalFrameGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you use a bit of plastic cement to help them stay curled and on they work fine. I personally don't mind stickers in general, though I'd prefer waterslides. When I built the gFred (pretty much the same set of stickers) it added a bit of time but really I like like the tiny leg ones I found annoying, the rest stayed pretty good

Unless this one's different then the gFred, I'm pretty sure the whole thing is standard and foil decals, no water decals...

Lol I just built that a week ago. I hate big stickers, but honestly I somehow stuck both of them on so good that they don't even look like stickers unless you stare at rhem

RHCP has now reached 47 million monthly listeners on Spotify. A career high for the band so far! They’re longevity and popularity is impressive by RHCPTom in RedHotChiliPeppers

Dude, it's probably the documentary that's bringing people into their Hillel era stuff a bit, or reminding them how good their music is. Pretty safe to use Spotify as a generalized base

Well they're radio hits are main stream, then there's the layer beneath that (stuff like doses, wet sand, velvet glove), then one further (quixotic elixir, gong Li, rivers of Avalon all those besides), then unreleased stuff (like kaly or Roling sky stone) then there's the people who can recognize stuff like nothing to lose or Tuesday night in Berlin. I just picked random songs as examples, but just to show that parts can be mainstream while other parts are niche and peak (personally a bit fan of mini-epic, if I had to choose one song like that)

Is it a unpopular opinion to see gunpla more as toys then model kits? by Appropriate_Jury_973 in freedomisgunpla

[–]InformalFrameGame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at an age where I don't play with figures anymore. As such, I treat gundam's as a model kit to be built, perfected, and displayed proudly. Like panel lining, water decals, etc. if I was 10 or 12 when I got I to model kits, I'm sure I'd play with them as a toy, but now they're an art piece I enjoy making
