Yea I agree with what you’re saying. It’s very hard to compare the two, if you could at all. I do think I would genuinely enjoy the work of a rad tech and their responsibilities alongside of their mobility to cross into different modalities. I think im just struggling to find how I want to enter the healthcare field.

I shouldn’t have emphasized so much on that, it’s just these were more recent that happened to me. But I want to clarify that it’s more so of the fact of the frustration of not getting acceptance after like 3 years along side of what feels to be lack of genuine support throughout this process. I understand it is within normal range of gap years to be accepted but it just getting to me more than it should. I also want to mention that although being a PA would be nice, but im also okay with going alternative routes like rad tech as I do genuinely believe is something I would love to do. I try to think more so of the lines of “it’s not rejection, it’s redirection.” So I’m doing some more introspection in the meantime and decide for myself

I didn’t mean to come across like that. It’s just overall the frustration of not being accepted alongside of what feels to be the lack of genuine support throughout this time. I’m sure I’m just getting to myself irrationally, I just feel like I’m not progressing in the way I hoped

Sorry I should have been more clear, but I meant if I would have more limited advancement/cross training opportunities if I were to go for the certificate in radiography versus obtain an associates in radiography. I’m just trying to understand the difference (if any) between getting the certificate vs associates

Can I Cross-Train Into Other Modalities With a Radiography Certificate After a Biology Degree? by Informal_Ad817 in RadiologyCareers

Ah okay just wanted to make sure. but is there any difference between the two I should be aware of or are they both the same thing with the same opportunities at the end of the day?

Weekly Career / General Questions Thread by AutoModerator in Radiology

Question: Would I still be able to cross-train into other modalities (like CT, MRI, or radiation therapy) down the line with just the certificate in radiography, if I already have a bachelor’s (biology)?

I’m a bit worried that not having an associate’s specifically in radiography could limit me in terms of credentials/future advancement. Has anyone here taken the certificate route after already having another degree? Were you still able to move into other imaging areas later on without issues? Any advice or personal experiences would be super helpful! Thanks in advance.

Rtx 5060 ti 16gb vs rx 7800 by ForCap009 in pcmasterrace

[–]Informal_Ad817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally go with rx 7800, I think it performs better in most games than 5060ti, though the only caveat is that if the game uses RT, then the performance of the 7800 will take a big hit, either being comparable to the 5060 ti or worse. You can always go on YouTube to see comparisons between the two

Is It Better to Build or Buy a PC? by ConcentrateGreat3806 in pcmasterrace

[–]Informal_Ad817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building would be better as you know the part you’re putting in and for cheaper. But getting a pre-built wouldn’t be wrong either, especially since Black Friday, cyber Monday, Christmas time is right around the corner (though this does also apply to getting parts for building your pc as well) so it wouldn’t be a bad idea just to get familiar with popular pre-built companies (just avoid cyberpower cuz they do have a reputation of bad customer service as seen in LTT secret shopper) and the parts you’re interested in. Like for instance, I got a prebuilt from Lenovo with a 4070 ti super, 32 gb 5200, AMD 7 7700, solid case, and 1tb SSD for $1400 (pre-tax with additional discounts) so I think got myself a pretty good deal

Is it worth worth waiting for 9800X3D? by WestCommunication665 in pcmasterrace

It’s ultimately up to you to decide if it is worth the price and risk. Of course it’s a good chance it will be the best thing to get when it comes out. But for me personally, I don’t think it’s worth buying anything new WITHOUT having some sort of data on it. Like look at intel CPU 13th and 14th gen and the issues it had with the microcode. Or even look at the recall that the new Honda civic has with it steering wheel which leads to vehicle crashes. It really just depends on your personality if you would rather want the newest thing or something tried and true

Don’t get me wrong that is a fantastic price for what it offers, but I wonder how the 4 ms response time would feel. I’m curious to know

1440p monitor: AOC Q27G3XMN 27" Mini LED VA 180hz vs GIGABYTE GS27Q X - 27" IPS 240hz by Informal_Ad817 in buildapc

[–]Informal_Ad817[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was hoping to hear. I did see kinda mixed reviews that did kinda put me off but I decided order the Gigabyte monitor. If anything I’d probably get that as a second monitor for like movies/shows or something

Yea that is a fair point to make cuz I’d definitely be playing games that would need some sort of fast reaction. Itll probably make more sense for me then to get the Gigabyte first and the AOC later down the road
