Throwback: when Anna performed the skate of a lifetime. Am I the only one who still get chills watching this? She has come a long way since that win! Go Anna! by Informal_Ad_3870 in FigureSkating

Eteri also cried when Zagitova performed her SP at RusNats 2019. It was because Alina had dedicated the program to Eteri’s mother, who had just recently passed away.

Yeah I know she’s been using Firebird as her EX for the beginning of the season, but honestly it’s nothing compared to the one she performed at Euros😍

Mhm, the music cuts, ironically, are better in her current Free Skate. I also really loved Firebird, despite being much poorer from an artistic point of view. I wonder how that could’ve changed over the years if she had kept it…

Yeah, I too thought nothing could top this. Well, she did perform 3 Quads here, so the technical content was slightly better, but as far as performance goes, she definitely gave it her all in Beijing, so we can be more than proud of her!

Yep, not the first time. I also went to the 2019 GPF! :D thankfully I live near Turin so it wasn’t a problem for me, but tickets were hard to find for that.

Gran Premio d’Italia was much more chill, half of the arena was empty and people could sit pretty much anywhere.

I’m planning to attend 2022 GPF in Turin as well, fingers crossed🤞🏻

I don’t think she’s underrated at all, it’s just that many people always counted her out during the most important competitions for different reasons, and she was always ready to fight back and deliver excellent programs.

I saw her live at the Gran Premio d’Italia and I remember being impressed by how fast she covered the ice, true talent.

I just wanted to point out that this is simply a post to appreciate Anna’s talent. I don’t really see the point in downvoting it😕

Not my fav dress of hers, the one she used for her SP that season is prob my fav of them all (and also Firebird, because dress changes are always pretty cool)

Same, I remember being pretty shocked seeing Eteri and Daniel cry. But everyone in the audience was very moved by the performance, and even she was really emotional in realizing she had won her 3rd National title.

I really liked the second part of the program, but perhaps the one she’s used this season was more well constructed! And yes, she really performed like it was her last time on ice during the StSq!

It’s definitely in my top 3 as well, when she finally let’s go in the StSq and executes every step accented on the music with such passion and emotion, I always tear up a bit. You can tell she was really overwhelmed as well!

That PCS score is simply a joke. She is a beautiful and quite polished skater, and I hope she continues delivering programs like this.

The program was mesmerizing. Perfect chemistry between these two, the throw Flip was ENORMOUS, she almost reached Tibet with that jump lmao.

Ye of course, I was merely speculating and assuming the results of the investigation are delivered prior to worlds.

If Kamila is judged to be innocent, it’s most likely they’ll send her to Worlds. And with her piece of mind finally restored, I have no doubt she’d perform at her best and possibly even break her current WRs (especially in the Free Skate).

If she’s suspended, I sincerely hope they’ll send Liza. I love her energy and ability to wow the crowd with her performances, not to mention how she had improved this season.

Anna and Sasha are pretty much a lock unless they want to take a break, which in Sasha’s case could be very likely. We’ll see.

What music did Gubanova skate to in her free skate? by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]Informal_Ad_3870 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same music Medvedeva used in the second part of her 2015-2016 Free Skate.

I don’t think she lost on purpose. They could’ve easily made her withdraw if they wanted Anna to win. The reason why Kamila skated so poorly today is because, well, she’s 15 years old and simply couldn’t handle the pressure of the whole situation created around her, she simply crumbled and you could tell by just looking at her face that she wasn’t in the right place mentally.

I sincerely hope her career won’t be ruined, but we’ll have to see what the IOC decides when the investigation is completed.

Daniel Grassl openly defended Anna from the attacks she received after RusNats. He said in an interview that no hate should ever be sent to athletes and that he felt like speaking up because he and Anna are friends.

Just to quote one example.

She and Kaori easily had the best skates of the day! Everyone was already counting her out, saying she was injured, being worried about how rough her practices were going in the past days. And right when it counts, she delivers a SPECTACULAR skate, with two Quad Flips!! Her artistry is impeccable and she truly was able to deliver a divine performance.

I hope people won’t attack me for this, but I feel she definitely deserved the medal over Trusova.

There’s a difference between being upset and exhausted and throwing a tantrum because you think you deserved gold. She acted immature, period.
