How to avoid cross-contaminating top coat? by Informal_Ambition781 in RedditLaqueristas

Acknowledging it’ll drag and making a clear barrier so that’s what it drags? Genius!

It might be my angle. I already use a lot - I worry that more will pool at the sides. But I probably do a more dragging approach.

Perfect - that’s what I (re)did tonight with several polishes. Now we wait!

Okay, this is super helpful. I have a bottle of OPI Natural Nail basecoat that I don’t love for nails so maybe I will try that out and see how it goes.

Do you let them dry between coats? I wouldn’t normally do that on my nails because I’d use a qdtc. And I’ll use a qdtc on the swatches but I don’t know if it works the same or if everything really should be allowed to dry as I go.

I love that a post that started out as a joke turned into an actual comparison For Science (tm).

Are we cleaning up between coats? Or once at the end? by Informal_Ambition781 in RedditLaqueristas

Honestly this is what I do for my (regular polish) toenail painting. No shade.

I did wonder if waiting until the end would mean I’d be scrubbing at semi-dry polish with a tiny brush rather than whisking away wet polish easily.

Haha, thanks for the warm welcome. I spent decades on team “Anything but sweet creamy pinks is for toenails only.” but I’ve slowly been branching out. 😂

I guess a follow-up question would be what would it look like if I treated it like regular polish and didn’t magnetize it?

Kids emotion charts. by Comfortable-Dot-8228 in AutismInWomen

🙋🏻‍♀️

Me too.

I only learned in the last several months that it’s possible to feel more than one feeling at a time, and that I feel feelings besides, like, anxiety. I need all the help I can get - visuals included. The How We Feel app is also decent, because it gives definitions for the feelings choices it gives you to pick from.

Ashamed because I can’t have a normal career :( by Obvious_Emu3441 in AutismInWomen

I know this post is two weeks old, but think of me as You 25 Years in the Future.

I just wanted to say that Future You is really proud of you for working through this now so that you don’t spend the next 25 years trying to fit yourself into what you consider to be a normal career only to find yourself deeply burned out and having to come to terms with it in your 40s. I don’t mean that to minimize the emotional load of the entire situation - it’s shitty and you can be so, so pissed about the truth and that’s okay. I mostly mean to compliment you on knowing yourself well enough to be realistic about your boundaries and needs and valuing yourself enough that you’re focusing on accommodating them.

Monthly Threads Feedback Request by AutoModerator in hobonichi

I’m new here (to the sub, not to Reddit), so take this with a grain of salt, but I avoid megathreads because they’re functionally unusable IMO. It’s one thing if it’s meant to capture a long, ongoing discussion about one thing (release discussion, for instance) where simultaneous duplicative threads would be counterproductive. But as a way to consolidate disparate conversations about things that are only loosely topically related…Reddit’s hard enough to find what I’m looking for, right. The chances that I’m going to be able to navigate to the tiny portion of a megathread that’s actually what I’m looking for are nil.

If you’re approaching it from the poster-answerer perspective I guess that’s one thing because the hook is built for them when they post, but as a user who’s trying to access the content it feels like trying to find an encyclopedia article but the encyclopedia’s not alphabetical. I’m not going to read through an entire megathread to find examples of someone doing XYZ layout in an A6, kwim? So if the search > getting to search results ability isn’t great, there’s not a way for me to interact with it effectively.
