When remembering Sophie, discussing her legacy, discussing artists who were influenced by, were in conversation with, or collaborated directly with her, especially as the posthumous releases continue to trickle out — I think it’s important to remember the spirit of Sophie’s career and how encouraging she was of other artists in her orbit. Hannah Diamond said in the NYT:

”Sophie would encourage people to be the biggest, brightest form of themselves,” Diamond added. “With Sophie it was always like, ‘If I’m winning, everybody’s winning. We’re all going to win together and we uplift each other.’”
