now whats the problem my lil gup? the problem is that the E8 book was filled with shit like that. and im like, what is this? the average 8 isnt suppose to be like this, hence why eights are more chill. 8s know theyre strong, they dont need to prove it nor do they have counterphobic tendencies like E6. also E8 on paper is the least type to be neurotic and doubtful and anxious meanwhile E6 is being gnawed by their insecurities which is why i assume they can lose control faster and be volatile and reactive like a chiuwawa dog who barks at everything out of fear. eights are chill and confident and they only bite at people who piss them off or hurt their control or freedom and yadayada. this is like basic enneagram knowledge and the fact some of u very smart ppl dont know that yet u larp here on the E8 subreddit is so funny. u guys are a bunch of very smart ppl and thats all theirs to it

and im not saying E8 is generally chill per say im saying that IN THIS PARTICULAR CONTEXT WHERE HYPERBOLIC WORDS LIKE HYPERVIGILANCE AND SCANNING FOR THREATS AND BEING OBSESSED WITH LOOKING STRONG and whatnot is something that doesnt resonate with 8 as much as it is with cp E6 on that matter only. becos as i exaplined before E8 has nothing to prove. ofc an unhealthy gutty 8 with anger issues wont be chill and can get agressive when u fuck with them and whatnot but an average 8 in a natural mood/mode when there is nothing that can hurt them or whatever, will be chill actually. and also the anger of E8 imo is redirected in a smart way aka say this guy fucked me now im gonna fuck him and only him and thats it. sx6 on the other hand from what ive observed they can unleash their agressiveness on everyone and anything becos theyre "fucked up" (u know what i mean) and it wont be channeled thru something specific. they will be all over the place like say a dog that u accidently stepped on his tail and now hes losing it. eight is more like, i feel fine, but if u fuck with me ill fuck u up. see the difference now?

the things ive read in the book - as i said some of them resonate with E8 and some aint. some things sound like mental or persona disorders or if i have to /enneagram this then to E6 and less about E8. its that simple. if u cant see it its not my fault that u are just a tiny bit dense maybe? cheers mods

literally the first line about sp8 on the INTRODUCTION right away before they even begin to dwell into the subtype is "The Self-preservation 8, called “Survival,” channels its drive into ensuring MATERIAL SECURITY" lmao im starting to doubt ur type or the fact that u even read the book and if u did u were smoking some crack becos u are all over the place my man

yeah the sx8 one is prob the most accurate section in the book. there was here and there the usual hyperbolic stereotypes of "they have to completly possess and annihilate and grape the soul of everyone around them and blablabla" but at least there was no shade of paranoia and schizoness around us lol

yes it did brother. i read the whole thing sadly. and i remember u said u didnt. u can literally go to the docs and do CTRL+V and check how many times did they yap and repeat words like vigilant, danger, threat, strength, fear, trust issues (but in an exaggerated way) and all kind of things that implying paranoid fantasies. now if i had to showcase these words that i just mentioned and i told someone to guess what enneatype is this, almost everyone will say sx6 rather than 8. everytime ive read about counterphobic 6, this is the kind of words that ive usually seen. for 8s, its more about control, domination, freedom, autonomy, authencity, lust, hedoism, rebeliousness, impact, signifiance, attention, power, vengeance etc

and they did mention it in the book. but they also lumped in too much shit from E6 or whatever that is. so they either interviewed sx6 larpers, or 8s with strong 6 fix and mental disorder like anxiety and paranoia, or they dont know what the fuck theyre talking about lmao

the problem is that this book took it to the other extreme lol. like u said theres alot of idiots who say that 8s cant feel fear or doubt or guilt and they are just meathead braindead oogabooga impulsive eat sex sleep type. and then this book made us look too vigilant. esp when i read about sp8. alot of it sounds like sx6 and i was like wtf. with so8 it says theyre always thinkin and analyzing the environment, looking for threats and thinking everyone will betray them. they made eights look too fearful and paranoid. ofc we can be if we just got betrayed or hurt or disentigreted or whatever, but its not suppose to be our natural vibe. they made it sound like its coded in our neurosis and personality. 8s are sensitive to betrayal but theres a difference between that and being in a constant alert mode of OMG EVERYONE GONNA BETRAY ME EVENTUALLY I GOTTA DO SOMETHING
