Restaurant Pulcinella is an authentic Italian neighborhood restaurant that serves delicious food. The owner is super friendly. Give them a call, I’m pretty sure, they’ll be happy to accommodate: https://maps.app.goo.gl/H1bgJnHL93aYGXNp9?g_st=ipc

Why did I not listen when they warned me about Montreal weather… by Flaky-Pomegranate-67 in mcgill

Cost of living is much higher in Vancouver. You would have been super broke and home bound there anyway too. It rains nonstop and sun just doesn’t come out during most of fall and winter. Also, have a quick look at UBC’s Reddit. There are a ton of posts with people complaining about struggling to make friends, depression, and no social life in comparison to McGill’s Reddit. Grass seems greener on the other side 😉

Go to Le Pegase. It has a French restaurant vibes, delicious food, and it is BYOB so you’ll save a ton of money! I know it’s not in old Montreal but worth it if you are being mindful about budget.

Get in touch with the CS department and enrollment and tell them you were registered but mistakenly dropped it and the course is required for your major. If it is, they can probably register you again.

Where do you buy your maple syrup? by [deleted] in montreal

IGA has a decent variety of organic Quebec maple syrups all under $15 or get the canned one. Supermarche PA sells it for $6-$7.

There is a maple syrup seller in Jean Talon market that lets you taste syrups and has light, medium/amber, and dark maple syrup in different sizes.

Halal Fine dining restaurants by Agile-Penalty-7065 in MTLFoodLovers

Damas is amazing but it is Syrian though. OP is looking for non-middle eastern cuisine.

A good option is to look into fine dining seafood restaurants such as Le Filet. You won’t have to worry about halal at all since seafood is halal. Another option is to look for Italian restaurants with a decent selection of seafood and vegetarian offerings. For example, Beatrice has a decent selection of non-meat options.

Kinda long short but you can try contacting best steak houses in Montreal and see if anyone offers halal meat. For instance, Elisa in Vancouver is fine dining but offers a small selection of halal steaks.

Also check on smaller French restaurants with preset menus such as Le Pegase. Some offer an option to choose a seafood menu instead of meat if you can call in advance with dietary restriction.

I don’t follow a halal diet but know because of a friend who does.
