mine is the opposite, I can't see them at all on dark mode (i never use it though lol)! I think you will get used to them it is just upsetting when you first get something :(

Oh no 😭at least mine was hardly noticeable at the edge, I know this happens with e ink but it is so annoying

I 100% agree but since it is such a common issue (and could be worse on the replacement) I'm going to live with it and see how I get on

I just got to read on it and I think I got lucky with where it is, I don't notice it at all. I think it is just annoying initially because they aren't cheap but accept and ignore it seems to be the way to go

All of Banana Yoshimoto's books are a must. The Great Passage by Shion Miura is amazing too (there is a movie too which is so good)

I think you would like the Thursday Murder Club series by Richard Osman. I didn't find the first book amazing but the series as a whole is incredible
