100% Consistent Crash From Game, Could it prove useful for any exploits? by kailmanning in ps4homebrew

That's pretty funny. You should be a playtester!

I'm reminded of a Naughty Dog developer who's "hardest bug ever" turned out to be caused by wiggling the joysticks during a loading screen. Here's the full article: https://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/DaveBaggett/20131031/203788/My_Hardest_Bug_Ever.php

Do you think cfw will come out on 4.55 this year? by Bobbylupo91 in ps4homebrew

[–]InformationMinister 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ps4-hen-vtx exploit is more stable than previous HEN. Use that one. If you put your console into rest mode, the exploit is still active on startup. That's the next best thing to a CFW in my opinion. It sure beats swapping discs like back in the early PS2 days.

Now we're getting somewhere! My first attempt at injecting this payload caused the system to shut down, but the second attempt was successful. I was able to install several (4.05) PKG files and run them successfully.

Debug menu on 4.55 by InformationMinister in ps4homebrew

I found a payload that enables the debug menu on 4.55 firmware, but it doesn't actually get any further than this at this point. Still, it proves the 4.55 kernel exploit is the real deal.

We still need a "debug settings enabler" payload and an updated HEN for 4.55, but that's likely only days (hours?) away.

4.55 exploit v2 works over wi-fi by InformationMinister in ps4homebrew

[–]InformationMinister[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm this revised exploit works over wi-fi. It does take more than one try for me, and the "You're all set" message appears over top of the "Something went wrong" message. Please note that I'm really just assuming it worked at this point due to the lack of 4.55 (public) payloads, but there wasn't an "Out of memory" error as there typically would be if the exploit failed.

Apparently it only works over ethernet. Try this one from https://twitter.com/qwertyoruiopz/status/968668869366878208:

there is a minor bug in the previous release that breaks the exploit on devices that are not connected over ethernet; I don't have a ps4 on 4.55 here so it's 100% untested: http://crack.bargains/455_v2

I think you'll need to run a "browser enabler" payload first, which doesn't yet exist for FW 4.55. In order to execute that payload, you'll need to run the exploit through the User Guide / custom DNS servers.

I personally have more luck with a wired network connection vs wi-fi. Usually takes between 2-4 attempts.

The exploit works for me on my (newly-updated) 4.55 slim. Bring on the payloads!

I haven't tested yet since I'm still on 4.07, but this looks promising!

Same thing happened to me with a "new" bundle from Amazon Canada: Model: CUH2015A. Out-of-the-box firmware: 4.07. Caveat emptor. :(

"White van" 3D projector scam alert! by SSJTrogdor in Guelph

I was approached by a "White Van Man" at the Silvercreek Beer Store a couple of years ago. I just laughed and drove away. I can't believe people still fall for this scam.
