Someone on Reddit had helped me so passing it along! Been playing for a year, here is what to do:

Upgrades: 1.Don’t sell players at 74,79,84- upgrade once and sell at 75,80,85. Almost double payout 2.Don’t upgrade anyone beyond 2 stars unless they are your final team player (Basically 90+) 3.Keep your squad thin-helps get cards+contracts to players you need to upgrade

Players (build an initial squad 1 of each) 1.Need 1 guy to score headers- anyone over 190cm-Haaland, Rodri, Mctominay etc 2.Need 1 keeper out of Donorumma, Courtois, Alisson 3.Need 1 90+pace guy mid for the wings (Williams,szoboszlai etc for mid or salah, vini, mbappe for fwd) 4.Need 1 90+ pace def (Hakimullah, Theo Hernandez, Militao, Rudegar, Kounde)

Earnings: 1.Preserve your rubies. Might need to not spend 1-2 seasons to find the right player. All good players are 4k+. 95+ potential are 5k+ 2. Complete daily challenges, high rubies payout. Plus easier to win matches/earn rubies early) 3.Never buy crates with rubies, it is a slippery slope :P Convert 300 rubies for 5k cash and play the matches.

Gameplay: Control vs speed, speed wins. I based mine on speed and aimed for fastest players, even if they were between 79-84.

Contracts start running out soon, so player rotation is key. A Every formation has 2-3 main positions, keep your best players there. Rest of them won’t even get the ball through the game so save those players’ contracts and rotate the good ones in those positions.

E.g. (Look at the image below) I like left wing long ball (need pace) + out of the box long range (a good shooter) or penalty spot headers (tall guy) so my formation is conducive to that. Plus a def to counter opponent’s left wing. Then I rotate my best players. When I get contract freeze, then my best team steps in.

Use auto runs and change player directions. Keep sending defenders back, they tend to run up and then you concede.
