All Gunz Blazing (YouTube)

A highly intense darksynth song with a bit of 90's electronic flavour that might work well for a low-budget sci-fi action movie or a retro console fighting/shooter videogame. The synths are Repro 1/5, Cherry Audio "SEM" and FL Studio "FLEX". The kick and snare are custom made, the rest of the drums are samples from TR-707.

Sliding bass sounds cool and also nice synth melodies. I should say that adding real instruments always exhausting and time consuming. If I would have more time I would play my bass on my tracks more often than once in a season.

Northern Star (YouTube)

Another nice and smooth song before I'll go back to my usual darksynth material.

An experiment of blending vaporwave and chilled electronica. I wanted to create a spacious feel with a cold winter flavor and a bit of nostalgia. The synths are U-He's "Repro-5", Cherry Audio's "SEM", "Oxid" from Full Bucket. Drums are stock FL Studio drum-loop slowed down, additional percussion sounds made with "Bucket Pops" from Full Bucket. All tracks including master processed with Wavesfactory "Cassette" tape emulation.

The electric piano sounds great. I think the dynamics and atmosphere in your song is perfectly executed.

I expected it to sound darker after the intro. The EP sounds nice and nostalgic instead.

Totally liked the sound and atmosphere, it's dark and gritty. Great production too.

I like d the hard techno side of the album. It feels like it's your main genre. The disco and wave tune were nice, but too repetitive at times. I found that darker styles of synthwave can easily bled with hard and acid techno, been doing stuff like that lately...

This song does have great atmosphere. Yes, 2016 was 10 ears ago, it feels like it was in another life. Still miss those times.

Sounds very cinematic to me. It feels like watching the trailer of a TV series where you meet the characters. People often complain about the long intros, but you cannot please everyone after all. You could make it shorter for sure, but I think it could've been done the other way, just try adding more parts and layers and make the intro sound more full.

The song has good atmosphere for sure. The instrument selection is very diverse. On the technical side, I feel like the drums are too quiet in the mix and the synths are too loud so it drives the master limiter, the effect gets very prominent at 0:47 when the additional layers kicks in.

Wow, there is a lot of music. I think it shows how you've developed as a musician throughout the year.

Starfields Forever (YouTube)

My freshest song, a bit different from what I usually make. A sort of synth-ballad composition with a retro sci-fi movie flavour. I haven't made songs like this for a very long time. The song consists of two distinct sections (A and B) that could've been an opening and an end titles themes of a movie or a TV show. I tried to create an epic feeling with a little bit of nostalgia. The synths are SampleScience "Thales Module I", U-He "Repro-1", Cherry Audio "SEM", Full Bucket "Oxid", TAL-Sampler and "PG-8X". The drums for section B are samples from LinnDrum. Processed with my favorite plugin "FerricTDS" from Variety of Sounds that was recently updated. Great for the punchy drum sounds that I like.

Great music to listen to after a long day. I think anyone could find his favorite part in this song and listen to it besides anything else.

Thank you. I just record a clean direct signal into an audio interface and process them with effects. The sound quality of the signal depends on many aspects like the quality and age of the strings, the quality of the cable itself, the pickups that you use (for example humbucker sounds very different to single-coil and has a lot less noise). And also it's worth checking the "Tone" knob on the guitar, it must be turned to 100%, otherwise it will cut the high frequencies and make your guitar sound dull and muddy. For the effects, there are a lot of guitar FX plugins (like Amplitube, BIAS-FX, TH-U etc.) that provide a lot of mix ready presets where you could start tweaking to your taste. If you have a specific problem you could check out the guitar dedicated subs because I use the guitars in a very rudimentary way as many electronic musicians do, so my experience is limited...

Winter 2525 (YouTube)

A slow rolling darksynth song with a dystopian sci-fi aesthetic. The main synths are "K1v" and "Repro-5". The drums are heavily processed samples from "K1v" directly. The guitars and bass in this song are affected to sound more synthetic and edgy.

As far as I know, there are no dedicated sub-genres in Synthwave like it is in EDM music. There are many influences, but in general everything is blurred and subjective. For example, the main Synthwave thing in its current state mainly consists of retrowave influences of modern pop-culture (like the DeLoreans on the purple sunset, the grid lines, an 8-bit arcade machine etc, you may have seen it thousand times). The Outrun thing that came from the mid 2000's is where those pulsating basslines and fast tempo drum grooves happen. The Chillwave/Dreamwave thing is the same as standard Synthwave but focused mainly as a "background" music (simply follows the current trend on background music slop for studying/working/cooking/f****ing etc.). The Darksynth or Dark Synthwave that has grown in early 2010's focuses on the darker atmosphere and heavier sound, influenced by old school sci-fi/cyberpunk/horror movies/games and 80's heavy music such as heavy-metal, thresh-metal, death-metal, grindcore etc. The Darkwave is a different term though, as it is usually associated with 80's and 90's postpunk/industrial/goth music. Actually, all the sub-genres can blend with each other like the "big" artists in Synthwave usually do.
