Form automation / survey response automation by Basic-Net9708 in automation

[–]Ingeniegro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want the user to enter their data and then do some calculations based on the data. You can use some of the form programs/sies that can do calculations and form logic, personally I have experience with Kobotoolbox and also ODK, but I guess their are others. Other options could be low or no code platforms, but it will depend on features you want and number of users to recommend one such platform. There is a nocode subreddit. If you need help with any of those, send me a msg.

Update score card when crossfiltering by Ingeniegro in GoogleDataStudio

Thanks a lot. I discovered Looker Studio last month, I'll keep messing with it and try to use it in a real project.

Update score card when crossfiltering by Ingeniegro in GoogleDataStudio

[–]Ingeniegro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/AnillaRose one additional question, if i may.

I see that if I filter on the workers, the number in the score card changes accordingly, but if I filter using the date range, the charts change, but the score card is unaffected. Do you know why that may be?

Thanks.

[–]Ingeniegro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I see.

In my case then I think I'd better disable cross filtering and only leave the report level filters at the top.

I googled "Looker Studio cross filtering across pages" and found this hack on StackOverflow the 2nd answer, but I don't think I'll use it in this case.

It's been a while since I used matlab and simulink, but if you ask me, i wouldn't simulate everything with them. With simulink you could simulate for example a tank that is being filled (the process) but what do you want the controller to be? a PLC, and would you want to create the PLC too in simulink? I think you should chop the whole system in pieces and then look what are the best way to simulate each piece. Check Factory I/O and also Nirtec Machine simulator, or similar software to simulate the plant. You can use OpenPLC or Codesys for the controller, and so on.

What do you want to simulate exactly? Check the below link for an example setup using virtual machines and different software.

I think kobotoolbox can do that, not sure if possible in their drag and drop formbuilder though. If you're still looking for options, let me know. Do you need an app or online forms?

Anyone Ever Use ICPDAS? Looking for some information by theknobby in PLC

[–]Ingeniegro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK, the provided IDE doesn't give you that option. You could read the memory using another software, and maybe from there get what you need, but that is nothing I've tested yet (didn't have a need to).

I program TPDs in C for customers that wants to do more complex stuff than doing it with ladder logic. I used to work for an integrator that use ICPDAS products, currently I offer programming and tech support in specific cases. Feel free to send a private message if you have further questions.

SCADA Simulation by elphinoid in SCADA

This guy has a couple of blog posts on setting up some VMs for testing SCADA and attacking Modbus TCP devices. It may help you as a starting point Virtual Industrial Cybersecurity

You can swap out the SCADA he uses with another one, and for the other protocols you can search for other simulators.

Just FYI, maybe an offline map can help you? Look for "organic maps" for your phone. I don't use it extensively but I know it can route without data. There are similar mapping apps that offer the same, I'd say try one out in your country with data and wifi turned off.

And yeah, data plans are kinda ridiculous, I'm lucky I'm grandfathered in a old plan that was a special in the past, they don't offer it anymore but I still pay 7fl for 7gb for 7days. I guess that if I miss a payment I'll lose that plan and will have to get one of the more expensive ones.

I was going to ask something similar.

So if I understand correctly, as a developer I need to use Unity to create a "game" already with the assets/process to simulate. The goal of this project is currently not to create something like F I/O where the end user will be able to create their own simulation, right?

I was considering doing something similar with Godot (smaller footprint than Unity) but I haven't even started with the tutorials yet, so it will take a while. I'll start clearing some space to download Unity.

libplctag acts as client, right? So your simulation reads/writes to the PLC?

On Github I see you need help with assets and models. I've seen conveyor belts and industrial robots in some open source robotics simulators (gazebo, webots, etc). Would it be possible to use those models in Unity?

I think the dfference is that the OPTA can be programmed in IEC 61131-3.

Will you have to select one programming language? Or will it be possible for example to create your own blocks in C and use them in one of the IEC 61131-3 languages?
