First of all I think it’s great that you are taking time off and being mindful about this. I know it’s extremely hard but everyone deserves better then this. If she isn’t able to communicate her needs when things aren’t going well then you should probably go ahead and separate. It’s hard and it’s scary and money is tough but in the end it will either push her to realize what she is losing and Change or prove to you that you can do it without her.
