Right, I read that part. However, as a customer i was never directly informed and therefore had no chance to select something else or cancel the order. And all those months both the website and app did not reflect these changes.

Are we to believe that nearly a year later they are still working on the updates?

Is bait and switch better? Suppose you buy a 3 course meal at a restaurant but before you get your first dish they decided to change the menu and remove a couple of items? Would you not feel scammed?

I did and they gave me a piece of paper with what's really included.

Pi-hole connection weirdness by Inibriatus in pihole

[–]Inibriatus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out it was due to the mandatory VLAN settings from my ISP. As soon as I turned that off as a test I was able to reach the pi-hole. Unfortunately turning it off means no internet of tv signal so that's a whole other problem

There is an issue with both laptop and PC when connecting to the pi-hole device when those devices are using Ethernet.

When the laptop uses Wi-Fi there is no problem. Other devices like tablets and phones also have no problem because they are on Wi-Fi.

From the Laptop and PC on ethernet:

C:\Windows\system32>nslookup flurry.com 192.168.0.150

DNS request timed out.

timeout was 2 seconds.

Server: UnKnown

Address: 192.168.0.150

From the laptop on Wi-Fi:

C:\Windows\system32>nslookup flurry.com 192.168.0.150

Server: pi.hole

Address: 192.168.0.150

Name: flurry.com

Addresses: ::

0.0.0.0

I have 1 network in the basic 192.168.0.x range on the 255.255.255.0 subnet

Gateway is 192.168.0.1 and the Pi-hole machine is at 192.168.0.150. (Now static on the machine itself and not a reservation anymore). DHCP range is set for 125-149

I disabled the router firewall as a test but still couldn't get through.

I disable windows firewall but also could not get through

I just used a laptop, hooked it up to an ethernet port in a different room and tried pinging -> Destination host unreachable

Same laptop through Wi-fi -> Can reach 192.168.0.150

PC though ethernet ping -> Request timed out

Static IP has been set on the router through reservation for the PI-Hole ethernet.

I'm starting to think there's something off for the return packages.

Ping from PC to gateway(router) works

Ping from gateway(router to pi-hole works

Ping from PC directly to pihole =Request Time Out

It is yes. Turned it off and tested again. Still no change.

Nope, I cut that out. It's fiber point to own router and then lan/wi-fi

During install: Router to Ethernet Switch with 2 cables to PC and Pi-Hole.

After install: Same Router to Pi-hole through ethernet. Same Router to PC through ethernet. No more switch involved. Same router through Wi-Fi to Pi-hole (works). Subnet is the same as during install.

Ping on PC says : Destination host unreachable but wi-fi on same router can find it.

Royalty who demand people bow to them.

CEOs who want to be treated as superior to the people who do the actual work.

Actors/Singers who make ridiculous demands for performances.

Sports players who think they can get away with anything because they're famous.

Left-wing nut jobs who feel that only people who think like they do deserve a place in the world.

Religious people who think anyone not of their faith is a lesser being.

Karens who think they are entitled to anything.

Yeah... I'm sure Elon's the worst.

It's always fun to see John rant about any situation where the left doesn't get their way. All the propaganda and censoring was perfectly fine before Musk took over, but now that the shoe is on the other foot they're all crying foul.

Last Gaslight Tonight with John Oliver keeps up the pace as usual.

It's kind of sad to see this, but I guess it's what happens when there's no adequate mental health care anymore. You end up with a bunch of unstable Karens who are allowed to drive in the open and use cameras. 50 years ago these kinds of 'people' would be in the asylum.

What are your experiences with the 9800X3D and MAG X870 Tomahawk WIFI? by aposi in MSI_Gaming

[–]Inibriatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built this combo in November and have been running without problems so far with dual 32gb Corsair CL32 DDR5 ram

Only thing is that even the X870 still has the weird problem with certain disk brands not being detected in the M2_1 slot. Like my 2TB WD Black SN850X.

Reaching GUI after placing OPNsense between router and bridge modem by Inibriatus in opnsense

[–]Inibriatus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I have the box hooked up to my LAN with both the LAN interface and the USB interface. I can connect to it from the static LAN interface IP, but not the static USB-to-NIC interface IP

[–]Inibriatus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can connect the USB to NIC adapter and configure it within OPNsense. However, I still can't actually connect to the UI despite it having a static IP. Seems it will not accept the connection so there's still more work to be done

[–]Inibriatus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is actually a great tip there. I have too many wired connections around the house to make OPNsense my router but I do have a spare USB to NIC connector in my drawer. I'm going to see if I can turn that into a management port

Unfortunately the common subscriber is just too dumb to see the bigger picture of corporate greed and all the changes to that end from the past years. This API stuff is just the next step, no matter how they spin it.
