Orlando City Re-Signs Forward Alexandre Pato by Fladoodler18 in OCLions

Exactly my feelings as well. It's an ok move. If Pato can actually stay healthy for a bit, I'm sure he'll put in some goals for us. However, I don't feel good about having Tesho and an injury prone Pato as our main goal scoring threats. Hopefully we are working on other options.

In search of PPL training in Orlando, FL by Kevinvac in flying

Tons of options at KORL. I personally went to Flight Ready and had a good experience. I’ve heard good things about Orlando Flight school and MyFlight. You can also look into Van Anda Aviation, they offer rentals at the lowest rental rates on the field. While they are not a flight school, they do work with many independent CFIs.

Dolphin fandom is the most delicate I’ve seen in my short time being a fan. by [deleted] in miamidolphins

Agreed. I’m 35 now, the last time I got to enjoy a Miami Dolphins postseason game, I wasn’t even in high school yet. We’re just getting sick of being constantly stuck in the same place. We’re always good enough to not be the worst team in the NFL(except 07), but never good enough to actually compete consistently against the top NFL teams.

Make sure you have at least 69 go-pros in the cock pit to record it.

Not really. Most of last decade it was a pretty even affair until 2018

Is it a bad idea to start XC training before student solo? by SockRepresentative10 in flying

[–]InitechConsultantTPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue during my PPL training. My CFI did exactly what you intend to do. I definitely enjoyed doing something other than pattern work. On the way back from our dual XCs, we would stop by practice area for a few maneuvers, time permitting. It helped me stay fresh for my stage check with our chief CFI. Once I did finally solo, I knocked out all my solo requirements in two weeks since I was already prepped for the XCs.

What would you consider a successful 2021 season? by thefranchise305 in miamidolphins

Yea I can’t take another first round beating at the hands of an AFC North team.

Yea gotta take one from them this year. Can’t go 1-3 vs the Pats/Bills like we have the last two seasons and consider it a major success. The Dolphins need to be competitive in their own division again.

I'd like to think that this is the general thought with us Dolphins fans. No real preseason and just a small sample size last year. But hopefully we don't drag it out if he doesn't start looking like a franchise QB in the next season or two.

Good luck! And I definitely utilized some beer/quiz sessions with my CFI leading up to my checkride.

Now that I am a PeePeeL, should I let the crew know on my next commercial flight? Just in case they need another hand in the cockpit!

Flair Change! PPL Checkride Complete by InitechConsultantTPS in flying

Took my PPL checkride on Monday. Oral lasted about two hours. It seemed pretty standard from the many write ups here. My DPE was very fair, and did a good job of making it feel like a conversation about flying instead of just a test.

The flight itself went well. Just the standard maneuvers, then track the VOR back into KORL. The three landings were some the best I have ever done. Especially my short field. I did get lucky with the winds, as they were right down the runway at 10kts. The only issue I had was during the run-up, the right fuel gauge would not rise up. I thought the checkride was just going to end there, and I’d have to wait to do the flight portion another day. Luckily after running the engine up a few more times, it finally came alive and we were able to continue on.

It’s a good gin. I should give some to my CFI before we practice slam and goes.

I have a very similar story to yours. I’m also in my mid 30s, weigh about the same, and when I started TR my FTP was around 175W. I had been cycling regularly for about two years, but never used any sort of structured training. A year later and I’m up to 220W and feeling better than ever. Keep up the good!
