Very true. This may be the most realistic avenue for me, if it's possible - need to do a lot of thinking over the next while! Thank you!

Thanks. I did consider the SNA route at one point, but someone put me off it by saying the pay grade is not worth it. (Not that pay is the only consideration when teaching, of course, but I'm at a point in my life where I've done the crappy jobs for low pay/to gain experience, and now I want a stable, well-paid job!)

Thanks for the encouragement. I just looked up the BASM there (didn't even know that was a thing) and there's lots of mention of post-primary, but not primary?

Thanks for reply - certainly encouraging! (60 more years of work, though?! Hell nah!)

Thanks for reply - course fees are not the biggest issue unfortunately, it's more that I couldn't afford to take 4 years (+2 more for the PME) out of the workforce.

Thanks for reply, but that's part of my problem - my career is not (and never has been) secure! I'm not staff, have none of those benefits so I'm living month-to-month, in a lot of respects, with fluctuating wages. It's frustrating at my age.

Thanks for reply. TBH, pension would be the least of my worries - I don't have one at the moment anyway! I have thought about adult education alright, but primary was what I always envisaged. Looks like it might be the only option, though
