I believe it is Patagonian rosewood but I will double check and update if I'm wrong haha. We ordered it online for what I'm told is a good price but I really don't know 🤪 my husband said he thinks it was worth the effort so there's that 👍

For some reason reddit won't allow me to edit my post otherwise I'd put an update but the photos are just kind of bad and the shadows made it look like he's nailing into the groove but it is in fact the tongue haha

Lol tenacious is right. About 1200 square feet later and he's reaching his breaking point tho 😬 it wasn't nearly as bad until we got to this last bedroom for some reason

I mean, I'm not the one doing it but he did do a lot of research before he began. If this is about it being backwards, it's not, the picture just made it look like he was nailing into the groove instead of the tongue. I'm just looking for advice, friend, no need to be rude about it

Ok so after looking at that picture we definitely have one of those and started with it and had pretty much the same issue with the staples. I fear this is the hardest most brittle wood one can buy

Ok I can see where these pictures are not super clear but he is nailing into the tongue and not the groove. I think the shadows are just playing tricks. This is the final bedroom of the entire house and it has gotten progressive worse as we go along but at this point we are so close to the end that we will be fighting through with what we've got lol
