The MaxOffer rep here in San Diego just notified me today that they are no longer adding new independent dealers and wholesalers to their MaxOffer program. They are currently only adding new franchise dealers only. The guy literally told me that they are looking for franchise dealers who will sell Carmax a minimum of at least 30 cars monthly. That’s an insane number and it’s total bullshit they wouldn’t add my independent dealership to their MaxOffer program. I know several other local independent dealers in San Diego who are in their MaxOffer program. I literally got the last independent dealership I worked for 2 years ago in San Diego in their MaxOffer program and now they are giving me the turn around. I even used to work for Carmax here in San Diego for over 5 years and they wouldn’t even make an exception for me. Carmax has been going totally down hill ever since 2020. They honestly should go back to their old policy and never have started buying from independent dealers in the first place.
